Muse Park — Attraction in Jackson

TLDR AT THE BOTTOM!

it seems like this park is more suitable for training/baseball. so that’s why it has at least one extra star. unfortunately that’s where the positives end. this park is neglected and it shows. i grew up with this park and now i’m returning home after 6 years from active duty to this abomination. this is basically the only “skatepark” in all of jackson. let’s start with the entrance. the roads are rough and there are potholes throughout the park. the wood fences there have been rotting since they were first put down god knows when. same with the picnic tables. the playground is rusty, old, and uninspired. bland and nothing more. surely there are better places to take your child or to host a party. i don’t know much about baseball, but the field and bleachers seem okay. people are often there so i guess that’s why there’s SOME upkeep. the skate park on the other hand is atrocious and dangerous. i LOVE skating and it’s sad to see i won’t be able to do that anymore at a skatepark. the ground is rough and pebbles are everywhere. it will throw you off your board. if the rough ground doesn’t cut you up, the glass littered around will. the ramps and rails are rusty and they’re ready to just be scrapped. it’s so bad that people moved some boxes to the tennis area next door. it’s not any better and the tennis court itself is littered with pebbles and damage to the pavement. unusable and dangerous. the bathrooms are gross. not much to add there.

so.. yeah that’s pretty much all i have to say. you get the point.

TLDR; this park is ugly, dirty, and neglected. rough pavement, rusty metal, and broken glass...

I went specifically for the skatepark (the park is split by the main road, the skatepark side is no good, opposite side is much nicer more welcoming) and aside from the the metal mini half pipe, every other feature was pretty worn out. The rough, and dirty asphalt ground is far from ideal, especially for new skaters. I recommend some protective gear and even some good gloves. Also, take a push broom it's very dusty, dirty. Which can lead to some unexpected slides and falls. It's not very welcoming and rundown. If someone from the city reads this please get it re-paved and the features re-painted. It could be a fun park with a little tlc. Also there are some really weird things that happen there. After realizing a public bathroom near the skatepark was used for "hookups". I will not be visiting the park with or...

It was nicer 20 years ago if you can believe that. The skate park needs to be updated if not completely redone. Rough ride and a slow metal halfpipe cmon. You know better. The kids park is outdated even the ponds are out dated. Disc golf is about all it has going for it and it needs attention. And at the risk of upsetting someone because they take it as a personal attack but I would make this comment about a group of females as well. Just bevause I park....during the day...... On the north side of the park doesnt mean I'm lookin to hook up. I parked to work on my truck and within ten minutes was approached by 3 different cars lookin fir love. Lets have a little social distancing guys. If your close, sure stop by. If your driving some miles stop at anothet park..... Unless your lookin to hook up. In that case this...
