Coastal Plains Park — Attraction in Jacksonville

Tonight my family went to the Coastal Plains Park to watch my grandson run his car down the track. We arrived at 1819, paid our admission of $10.00 per person. Two hours later at 2019, they still have not ran any cars down the lanes. We were told they were having issues with the lights and boards. This happened the last time we were there as well. When we went to leave, along with many others we were told that they were not giving refunds and may only give a raincheck for the next week, once the owner made the decision to do this. The man at the ticket booth could not tell us at what time that decision would be made, even though we were there over two hours with nothing happening. The man at the ticket booth was a decent man, and many people were extremely upset with him, since he was the face of the organization whom took the money as people came to the track. If a raincheck is given, it should be good for a year from the date of the purchase since you could not run cars down the track tonight. Many people were turned away without a refund or a raincheck. This is totally UNSAT. This is no way to treat your customers who come to have a good time, as you advertise. After having this happen to us twice, I can no longer recommend anyone use this track or to come watch the cars go down the track. Having a family of six people come to the track tonight, with one paying to run the track and not getting to do the run, is unacceptable. Without rainchecks or refunds is just taking money and not delivering anything in return. You decide if this is where you want to have your money taken with...

We went to the Jun 6 race which was cancelled due to a problem with the track lights just before the first race was to begin. Cancellation because of a lighting issue was perfectly understandable but the problem is the owner refused to give anyone a refund!. After I refused to leave for a few minutes, the lady at the ticket booth near the entrance told me the owner was on his way down to give us a refund. About five minutes after she left, the man still standing at the entrance directing traffic out of the raceway told us if we wanted a refund, we would have to mail our ticket stubs into the raceway....at which point I stopped listening. They claim that our ticket stubs will be honored at the next race on Jun 20 but flat out refused to give refunds for the race everyone paid for. I guess they just assume everyone will be available on Jun 20....or maybe serving the customers who keep them in business is last on their list of priorities. I will never find out because they will never get another...

I’ve been going with my sin and his family to the track and was having a great time until last night !!! It was trash!! I could tell they were not treating the track. Cars crossing lanes, the count down tower not working and at one point there were no races because only one lane was open!!! These drives put a lot of effort, time and money into this sport. A lot of it was wasted last night!! If they couldn’t prepare the track then don’t open!! Most of the cars couldn’t gain traction. It was horrible and a waste of time...
