Lonnie C. Miller Sr. Regional Park — Attraction in Jacksonville

I take my grandchildren here after school. They love it. There's usually quit a few people there chilling, listening to music, and socializing. I think they could do better at keeping the place cleaner. I understand it's the people that go there that do the littering. However, the city keeps up with other parks, keeping them clean. It's like city officials don't care about this area of the Northside. I don't understand that. I'm calling the mayor's office today to ask why that is. At this park right now. There is trash everywhere, it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. The bathroom reek of urine. There is music literally blaring. It’s a quarter mile away, and I can’t hear myself think. It doesn’t feel unsafe necessarily, but kids walking around with trash everywhere makes me worry about needles and stuff. This is by far one the most visited places I make here in Jacksonville. I like to take my dogs here and niece and nephew. There's a couple play areas for the kids and nice paths to walk along. The kids love it and my dog loves it. Very open and plenty plenty parking and space. Picnic and BBQ areas and bathrooms too.
