I love this place . BUT , the man who runs/ manages it is so rude . Every time I go in there it's "what do you want?" or no greeting when you walk in , just a stare as if I ruined his day . The only reason I am making a review today is because this was the last straw . I decided to take my 2yr old daughter , little sister and 51yr old uncle (which is crippled and handicapped ) this is only relevant if you know how difficult it is managing both at one time and making sure you have an easy accessed area which brought me to the Walker Co. Lake except I forgot they were closed on Wednesday's (my BIG MISTAKE) I got everyone loaded up and went there. while I was pulling up to the gate I thought "oh no they are closed" but when I got up to the gate it was wide open like they were open for business , so I pulled in to go ask if they were and the man (that manages it)happened to be out there walking back to the building . So I am driving down and he motions for me to come over where he was and I rolled my window down and he rudely says we are CLOSED !!!!! I politely said "ok I thought so" and said "I thought maybe since it was spring y'all may have been extending hours " He again rudely shouts NOPE! I said ok someone needs to shut the gate (because more people like me may come in ) he said NO !! YALL NEED TO LEARN HOW TO READ THE SIGN !!!! I was so upset . My daughter , sister and handicapped uncle all heard this man yelling and making a fool of himself , acting as if I was uneducated for one and for another like I deserved to be treated as such .No one associated with running or managing a public business expecially one the people pay for should act this way. I really hope that whomever is in charge or over him sees this . This is not the first time he has been outly rude to me or my husband . People I haven't met before has came up to us on the bank (while we where fishing ) and asked us if he was rude to us also . And every time we had to say yes . Because he is just a rude person that shouldn't be managing this place . If you'll treat people like that how will you manage an area for wild life or taking care of the nature...

Read moreWhat is the point in having hours if you don’t stick to them? Half the time I come here on days they’re “open” and the gate is locked and they’re closed. Extremely frustrating, this is a public lake.
Currently supposed to be open, noon on a Friday, listed as open, gate closed and locked. Every single time I’ve been here in the last 2 months they’ve been closed. I’m really sick of wasting fuel and time to find a PUBLIC lake closed...
