Camp Jefferson — Attraction in Jefferson Township

The location itself is beautiful and spacious but the camp staff is absolutely incompetent to handle even 8 y olds. The groups are too big for one teenager to watch them all. Instead of guiding a first time camper and helping him get familiar with the camp, camp's rules, new environment, they just write reports and suspend him every week for a day. (No refund). Boys play with the sticks in the woods? Suspend! Boys get wild and throw things at each other- suspend! What are you there for if they're allowed to do unsupervised activities like that? My 6 y old daughter came back with severe sunburn and pain all over back because obviously 9am parents' applied sunscreen in enough until the rest of the day..She asked her counselor to reapply sunscreen multiple times and was told "you're fine!" . I was always so nervous to leave my son with anyone other than family. He begged and begged for me to let him go to a summer camp. So at the young age of 3, I gave in and sent him for a few of the 3 day weeks. He had a ball! I felt so confident leaving him with the staff. They are extremely organized and their safety precautions are some of the best I've ever seen! The children have so much fun, and are completely exhausted by the time they get home! They got my son kidnapped and then gaslit me into thinking I was wrong for being upset. They had no idea who they gave my son to. They never apologized, they never treated me nicely afterward either. They were rude about it, scoffed at me for being upset, and then they made a nasty post on a local Facebook parenting group about me. You sign your child up for various classes and groups that cost extra money and they don't tell you that they cancel the classes or don't even have them.
