Flash Marina — Attraction in Jefferson Township

My experience with flash marina and Kurt are just the opposite of Jeff K. Had a mercury on my whaler that sat for 2 years. I took It out and broke down on the lake. I managed to paddle back to my dock (in my neighborhood). I went to see Kurt, he said he would be more than happy to charge me a tow, and then charge me to fix my motor but I should try filling the fuel bowl with known good gas and start her up. I did just that. He was right! He talked me out of spending several hundred dollars with him. I then traded in my whaler a year later for a tracker. The sale was easy, and no haggling necessary. I like Kurt so much, that I don't keep my boat in my free neighborhood slip and actually like keeping it there. (the neighborhood slip is in very shallow water).

When Kurt used to sell kayaks, I bought a very high end kayak from him. He would not let me purchase until the lake thawed and I tried a bunch out. He lugged about 5 different kayaks out for me to try, and spent a half day with me helping me choose the best fit for me.

I am sorry to the poster who had a bad experience, maybe there was a misunderstanding or just a bad day, but it really seems to me, that was a very isolated situation and not the norm for Flash marina.

As far as the finger docks... well, it is a marina and they tend to be a bit utilitarian. I expected nothing more than the very useful, practical bulkheads and docs at flash. 6 star rating all around from this...

Purchased first SunTracker pontoon from Flash 10 years ago. This year we upgraded and purchased our second with Flash! The honesty of the owner Kurt, is just one of many well deserved compliments. Going over a list of extras I (thought) I needed Flash to provide and install Kurt actually explains the logical reason why you dont need it. "You dont need to spend that money"! . After the conversation, you know HE just SAVED YOU Your MONEY! Doesn't push a sale at all.

In the store and office is Dawn, she is on top of getting you scheduled for when you want your boat in the water for the season, out of the water, will go out of her way to get answers back to you if she cant answer at that time. She is always available to help in any way, with absolutely anything. She is a Gem.

Very knowledgeable, approachable and supportive owner and staff. Customers first!

A boat owner for 2 years now. Dealt with Johnny's marina and they are HORRIBLE. Johnny summerized my boat without checking the blow motor or the bilge pump. neither were working, nor was my fuel guage. Johnny wanted to grab me for another $400 to replace both motors on top of the $700 that he charged me for the sumerization. I told him to stick it. The next day i went to Flash marina to get gas and spoke with kurt. As soon as i told him what the problem was, he knew the fix - turned out, the connections for the motors and the guage were on the wrong terminals on the battery. Cost - a thank you!! Very friendly and obviously VERY knowledgeable. I wont be using anyone other then Flash Marina...
