Horton Pond — Attraction in Jekyll Island

The trail head is easy to find if you know what you're looking for and the walking path is kept very clear and wide. There are several benches and a couple of docks to stop and enjoy the scenery or the Gators. The back half of the trail looks like you're walking in an enchanted Forrest with tall old trees, huge hanging vines and tons of Spanish moss. You get to see the alligators up close and almost to where they could jump right up and bite your head off! but this is the resting place in the evening that you can catch several crocodiles and alligators in this pond right before dark is the best time to see all of them but you better put you on some mosquito spray because they will have a buffet on you while you're enjoying...

Nice place to visit but sounds like they will start charging the public in the near future to camp there. Lots of camp spots. Seems they let campers stay extended amounts of time I would lock my stuff up if you have to make a trip to the nearest town for supplies.
