Driftwood Beach, located on Jekyll Island in Georgia, is a natural wonder and a captivating coastal destination. Here's a comprehensive review of what you can expect when visiting this unique beach:

Driftwood Beach is renowned for its haunting and picturesque landscape, characterized by the weathered, sun-bleached driftwood trees that create a surreal and almost otherworldly atmosphere. This beach is a photographer's paradise, offering stunning backdrops for capturing the beauty of nature.

The beachfront is tranquil and serene, making it an ideal place for a peaceful and scenic walk along the shore. The contrast between the stark driftwood and the soft sand adds to the sense of tranquility.

Visitors often appreciate the opportunity for beachcombing. Driftwood Beach is a prime spot for finding seashells, coral, and other ocean treasures.

The beach is well-suited for eco-tourism and birdwatching, as it is home to a variety of shorebirds and wildlife. Many enthusiasts are drawn to the area for its rich biodiversity.

Driftwood Beach is a protected area, and visitors are encouraged to be respectful of the natural surroundings, making it an excellent choice for those interested in environmental conservation.

In summary, Driftwood Beach is a truly enchanting destination that provides a unique and memorable coastal experience. Its natural beauty, tranquility, and ecological significance make it a must-visit location for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking a serene...

What a pleasant surprise this was!!! Visited Jekyell Island today, March 17th, while passing through on our way to Florida. To get onto the island, it was $6 per car and $12 for oversized vehicles. We enjoyed a deli sandwich and local soda from the market. There are lots of choices of restaurants and dessert places to enjoy while there. We took a walk on the beautiful beach, the weather was perfect.

If you are looking to stay on the island, they have hotels, vacation rentals, and even a beautiful campground. There are so many activities for any age to enjoy. It's makes a great vacation spot, and you would not even need to leave the island. Sea turtle Exhibit, horse bike riding, trolly rides, fishing, swimming, and beautiful bike trails all around the island. Don't forget to shop all the stores, there is something for everyone.

While driving around the island, we saw all these vehicles on the side of the road. We decided to stop and see what was going on. We'll, I'm glad we did. Driftwood Beach was something like no other. It's a must-see. You won't be...

We visited St. Simon’s and Jekyll Island on the same day. We saw some great sights, but this was by far my favorite! It was not at all what I imagined in my mind. I came from Washington State where we have driftwood on the beaches, but this looked almost apocalyptic! To me it was absolutely stunning. The beach is very rocky along the water so not a place you would really want to swim but it is sandy around the driftwood so you can walk the beach. Another tip is make sure you have flip flops or some type of footwear on when accessing the beach because the sand is HOT leading to the beach! There is limited parking in front of the beach access, but you can park all along the side of the road. We were there on a Tuesday so got parking right in front and there were only a hand full of people at the beach. I would say this is a definite must see if you are...
