This was our second time staying at the Jekyll Island Club Resort and it was decidedly worse than our first. Although the property is very beautiful and full of interesting history, the accommodations are severely lacking. As you can see in the pictures, the room was dirty: built up dust on the headboard, crusty stains on the chairs, a very dingy carpet. I am not sure who thinks this is an acceptable level of cleanliness for a hotel. We also felt that the front desk service was exceptionally bad this time. When we first arrived, we went out onto the porch of our room and pulled the door closed behind us, later realizing that the door was locked with no way to unlock it from the porch--we were trapped. We called the front desk asking if they could come rescue us and were told that they would submit a maintenance ticket. Ten minutes passed, no maintenance. We called again; again were told that someone would come. Ten more minutes passed. We called again and asked if we should instead call the fire department to come and rescue us, and finally someone came to unlock the door--25 minutes after we contacted the front desk. To be clear, we were on the first floor, steps from the front desk. There was no reason someone could not have walked over sooner. We were lucky we had a phone with us to call them in the first place, or we would have been out of luck. A later, more minor issue with the front desk was asking a simple question to the lady manning the desk and having the answer grunted at us from the back office by the manager who couldn't be bothered getting up. Quite surprising. Many of the other staff members we met, especially in the dining room, were extremely friendly and nice, but given the experience with the front desk staff and the uncleanliness of the rooms we probably will look for accommodations elsewhere next time we visit Jekyll Island.

1st… Let me say that my wife and I love this place. We first came here during COVID after our wedding when international travel was not an option. We called it out mini-honeymoon and have been back 3 years in a row! 2nd… there are numerous people that deserve the highest recognition to include the woman that runs the Panty and the young man that checked us in! The complimentary Champagne and strawberries were marvelous Lastly… I have to say that the service aspect is seriously disappointing. - when you pay over $350 a night it should be expected that the room will be tended to each morning. When we came back through the first night, I waited at the reception desk for someone to come out of the office to remind them of the Champaign and the older gentleman was less than enthusiastic to come out of his office to assist us. The next night, it was 5pm the following day when we asked an employee for fresh towels and refills for the coffee bar, and they seemed put out and actually never came. On the day we checked out and had breakfast at the Pantry, my wife’s chi-latte was not what she ordered and when I asked about it, there was no effort to correct the order. Again, we love this place and desire to go back EVERY year on our anniversary, but will consider other options if the service does not improve. You can see from the view posted how much we paid nightly for such a fantastic room. We truly desire to come back year after year and hope that the level of hospitality in the future does not disappoint us.

We had the time of our lives in Jekyll Island but most importantly the Jekyll Island Club Resort. It has everything you would need there - hotel, places to eat, pool, bar, lounge area, gym, and more. Excellent accomodating staff that are nice and personable. Spacious beautiful views of the island. A place to go bike and minutes away from the beach and Georgia Sea Turtle Center. It was like living in paradise. A few things I wished could be better for our rooms which was spacious. I wish there was a tall mirror in the room and I wish we were informed during check-in that cleaning the room is upon request because we were expecting fresh towels everyday. Also the room can be cleaner especially the bathroom which I found the shower to be dirty. The carpets can be cleaner too. The knobs for the shower were hard to turn and the toilet kept making loud noises. The blowdryer in the bathroom was very old and was broken. I think the rooms need more TLC. Also, give us bigger free water than the small ones since we are paying alot of money to stay there. And no one appreciates paying 6 dollars for a big water. Besides the hotel room, excellent place to stay and we enjoyed our time.

If you haven’t already visited this resort, you will soon find your new annual destination after just one visit. Both the Jekyll Club and Jekyll Beach are stunning and offer endless activities for both families and couples alike. From dolphin tours, golf, bike-riding, sitting by the ocean, croquet, to incredible resort dining options for dinner and breakfast, the Jekyll Club has it all. My favorite amenities are the on-site bicycle rental that allow touring the island to be incredibly easy and convenient, an all-day trolley that takes us back and forth between the two resorts allowing us to have a historical atmosphere at the Jekyll Club at sunset for drinks and then a beautiful beach day the next, and the history surrounding us from the cottages to the beautiful church that are just a few steps away. I cannot recommend the Jekyll Club enough and the incredible staff that make our trips feel timeless and one of a kind. The entire Georgia Coast is beautiful, but I find the Jekyll Club to be far within budget than nearby neighbors and offers a quiet vacation where we turn our phones off and enjoy the view.

We had such a wonderful stay! They are exercising all precautions to prevent the spread of the virus, all employees are wearing masks and are cleaning high touch areas everywhere you look. It is such a beautiful area and so incredibly maintained. We stayed in Cherokee Cottage and out room was clean and so comfortable, awesome mattress and nice pillows. The pool was our favorite, we stayed for almost 8 hours every day we were there haha. The servers and bartenders at the pool were SO great! The woman with the long braids was the best and I am so glad she was our server for the past few days bc she was so nice and has the hospitality training at expert level. We are at the Wharf restaurant every night and Justin has that place running like clockwork. I know things are hard right now with everything going on but he was so positive and professional even as people were coming in and getting frustrated when they were not taking more reservations or only hosting hotel guests. You guys really hire awesome people and we will absolutely be back.

Absolutely beautiful here during the Christmas holidays. We walked around and saw all the lights. This is a very popular attraction. There are large live oak trees wrapped in lights, their limbs reaching out so far they dip to the ground. A spectacular sight! We had coffee and sweets in the Pantry. I had a caramel macchiato which was delicious! They have a variety of muffins, cookies, cakes, hot cocoa, coffees, and amazing croissants sandwiches. The chicken salad croissants were stacked high and looked so delicious. A very popular sandwich ordered several times as we sat and enjoyed our coffee. There is a fee to enter the island plus $4 for the holiday but it was only a total of $12. Definitely worth it! There are several different carriages available to ride around the island and see the lights. I believe you need to reserve ahead of time. It was a wonderful night with friends! I highly recommend.
