Gorgeous, Crystal Clear water! We parked at the blue heart Springs private parking lot/rental. It was five dollars per person to launch there. We drove down to Branberry Hot Springs to check out that launch as well. It was also five dollars per person. The paddle from Branberry was about a mile and a half, so we started at blue heart Springs instead because it was a shorter paddle (just under a mile?). I had three kids with me, the youngest was nine. They paddled themselves and it took us roughly an hour to paddle up. Round-trip, with playing in the spring, we were probably on the water for two hours total. It was a Saturday. We launched it about 12 o’clock, and it was so insanely crowded, but still worth it! I was glad that we brought our own paddle boards/kayaks because they were out of rentals by the time we got there. The kids loved the Clear water of the spring, although it was pretty cold. We all wished we had brought goggles so we could’ve swam around a little more. Just as we were leaving, some bigger boats pulled into the cove. It felt way too crowded for big pontoon boats and motorboats, so I was glad we were leaving when they came. All in all, it was a great trip and...
Read moreUnbelievably beautiful water. It is so clear and blue you will be amazed. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon in early July. There were maybe 20 other adults and children spread throughout the cove. Would have preferred less crowd but there was definitely enough room for everyone. The water is very cold. It was almost 100* that day and the water felt great at first but if you're in it very long your feet will start to go numb. When we were there the only motorcraft was a sheriff boat checking to make sure everyone exiting the cove had life jacket, whistle, and invasive species inspection sticker on their kayak. We rented from Blue Heart Kayaking so this was not an issue for us but did see a few citations issued for others who were not properly equipped. (Highly recommend BHK rentals - they were great!) I can see this place being crowded and rowdy on the weekends which is a shame but glad we got to...
Read moreThis is an extremely easy spot to kayak to, especially if you start at Banbury Hotsprings upriver from the spring. It's a relatively short paddle, and takes about 2 hours round trip from Banbury. If you want to be a little more adventurous, you can launch from Ritter Island, which takes longer and is about a 6 mile round trip paddle. However, that way you get to see more along the Snake River Canyon. Parking at Banbury's is free, and they have kayak rentals if you don't have your own boat. The water is nice and cool at Blueheart, and is honestly a swimmer's dream with the crystal clear water. THERE IS NO WALKING ACCESS. The only way to get to Blueheart is via water. Paddling, you can also see where Box Canyon lets out...
