Unfortunately this is not a public park. While the name “Johnson City Dog Park” leads you to believe that it is accessible to the public, that is not the case. There is an annual fee you must pay for access. While I’m sure this is a great resource for locals, it was a waste of drive for myself. I am traveling to the area for work with my pups and was hoping to find a place to let them play off leash to break up the days drive. If there was an option for a daily visit fee or weekly pass, I’d feel that this was a more welcoming environment. I have no issue providing shot records and am a member of more than one private dog clubs/bar where I live. However they do not name themself a park. Parks are public spaces. Also, I have already read through the snarky responses to other reviews so there is no need to explain the non-profit aspect or whatever other gate-keeping excuses.

I was a bit reluctant to pay membership fee for a dog park. But we decided to give it a try. I am happy we did. The park grounds are well kept and dogs are well behaved. The dog parents have keep a watchful on their pets and keep control of them. We come 2-3 times a week. Millie gets a good run in, and then we walk the public part of the park for my exercise.

What a beautiful place to go! We brought our grandson there, and we loved it! He loved seeing the turtles and geese and loved the playground as well. The bathrooms were clean, the grounds were immaculate, and the walkway was great!

Tried to purchase membership for my dog - I completed an application, submitted his vaccination records, and paid $55. I received a receipt for my payment and an email that said I would receive a digital pass in 5 days, and a physical pass in 7-10 days. I never received either, and emails and phone messages went unanswered. Someone did respond by text that they would look into it but they never got back to me until I reached out to them again. Then I was told they had no record of my payment, but I could pay again and they would send out a pass that same day. I even showed them my credit card statement where I was charged, plus the receipt I received from them, but was told again I would have to pay a second time. Then when I asked for a refund, I was told I would have to call my bank and dispute the charge. They also mentioned that they have “dealt with over 20 people making the same complaint this week”. At this point, I have no interest in joining this dog park, which is too bad because I think my dog would have really enjoyed it, but with the disorganization, and frankly, incompetence I experienced, I will not be joining and would not recommend it to...

If I could rate out experience lower than this I would! I am sure the park is beautiful and has amazing amenities for the animals, but we wouldn't be too sure as our application was reviewed, our money was taken, and we were never granted access to the park. We have called the number on their contact list, which does not work. My partner and I have sent over 5 emails each, and we have even reached out to the board with no success. I understand that this park relies on volunteers, and I understand how vital their role is within community led agencies. However, it becomes a scam when you never receive something you have paid money for. We are so...
