Read moreWear or bring rain gear. This is a WET city. If you want to do it the cheap way, go to the transit station and take the bus. At the end of the transit route (talk to the bus driver and they will tell you what to do) you have to hike to the national forest. The sidewalk ends at one point but begins on the other side of the road. Easy walk, but it is wet. Only lyft works here (Not uber). Cell service is spotty. The walk to the falls/ glacier (once in the park) is paved. It is worth the walk. If you want to use lyft, you must stop at ride share spot because of permits for the park. This is a bit of a walk but not horrible (probably too far for elderly people). You can also book with the tour guides when you get off the ship (blue bus), but be prepared for wheeling...
