Just wanted to leave a review to warn people about how owners of this establishment have a ruthless money driven mindset, & their inhumanity towards me. Came inside on the day the temp is 108 F. They didn't have any coffee & I don't drink. The place was empty of customers. I asked if I could stay inside for a bit to beat the heat. They simply said no & turned me away. Considering the heat and the empty joint. It seemed cruel & extremely rude not to help another human being out when you have the means & the weather is dangerous to human health.
•••EDIT••• As I was waylaid at the service oasis. Sheltering from the great heat of that late July day. Waiting to cross the plains on cool evening winds. I came to this estlabishment. Whereby I was turned out as described… now first a little story, for you So.. my mom worked in optical for over twenty years. She was always taking care of people. A natural saleswoman she always stressed customer care first. So when I review a business not only do I take an accounting of quality of the product, service, food, etc. that the establishment has on offer, but I think of my mom and take an accounting of customer care as well. I think it is just as important as the first. It is one aspect of our market place that keeps the merchant from mistreating the buyer. If you treat your customer poorly, they take there money to a business who will meet customer care, and the former will be out of business. Simple. So even if not for humanitarian, or moral concerns, Seems to me to be poor horse sense to turn some away so promptly.
So there I was, Later on after returning to the way-station from my walk. After being turned away and after leaving my review, there as I crossed by the front of the business, the owner hailed me and called me over to parlay. She asked me to reconsider my negative review. We had a civil conversation wherein we expressed our concerns to each other. She was rather nice, but.. of course being nice.. well.. you know.. it is a successful strategy that humans know to use to get what they want.
Of course there is bias on both sides here. Well after consideration I feel it is fair to leave my review as is. Based on one core principle. Which is the ancient rites of hospitality. Whereby you are to entertain a guest with love, respect, warmth, generosity, and familial concern. In addition not only was this rite broken, it was done mid day, mid July, 108.F. To me this is equivalent to extreme weather phenomena such as downpours, winter storms etc. Survivable sure.. but none the less I asked to sit down for a moment and was turned away. It hurt my feelings, and also concerned me. If this is their attitude towards me, is this there attitude to people in general as well?, what other harm may be caused if so? What if I had medical concerns, or some other issue really pressing that required me to seek shelter for life? (Of course I was fine.) I saw a potential risk to others. Which made me more apt to take the time to type my review. So I will leave my review as is, due to their breaking the ancient rites of hospitality.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I solemnly swear that I, Natan take this edit up in the endeavor of truth, and duty. To be accountable and take responsibility for my part in the...

I've NEVER had the iconic spitting out a drink before, but wow that stuff is pretty brutal, so I couldn't help but evacuate that stuff as expeditiously as possible. It's neither "tasty" nor "smooth" as the label proclaims. Please feel free to lose that recipe, folks. It might have gotten people by in the prohibition, but it certainly can't compete with actual barrel aged bourbons like Makers, Buffalo Trace, Basil, or any other decent bourbon at the same price point.
I'm sure the folks are great, and if you stop by the distillery you might find something worthwhile. Kadoka is a great little place with...
