This place is in the midst of Kansas City yet makes you feel like you are out in the wilderness. I love nature and hiking and camping so I sort of dislike bringing attention I places like this so that it doesn’t get bombarded and destroyed but this place is in the middle of Kansas City... it’s still beautiful and I was delighted to go out here one very cold morning last month.. or earlier this month I decided to come out here to take some self portraits to send to my boyfriend since he is deployed. I truly was having the time of my life just taking photo in the beautiful fall foliage.. Read moreGreat trail, single track, lots of short up and downs, rocky. I stayed to the left at every fork & took the long way around, 120 minutes, a little more than 3 miles total. Only saw 4 bikes, & 3 other hikers on trail on Sunday August 6th at 2pm. Yes you are close to the road for the 1st third, but after that you are surrounded by nature. Not greatly marked but does have small signs if you know where to look at the forks in the trail. I really enjoyed the workout....
