I grew up in Kansas City we weren't really expecting too much from Swope Park we were impressed on how nice it looks with I guess appearance-wise if you actually weren't really looking at detailsbut I do it at 3 because I'll be honest with y'all it's not really in a good neighborhood okay but it seems really great the day that we were there we were there for the walk out of the darkness suicide preventionthat was actually pretty cool I mean it was really cold that day and it started raining but everybody stuck it out HONESTLY A REALLY GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE WEAR SUPPORTOR ANYBODY WITH ANY KIND OF PAST SUICIDE ATTEMPTS OR IF YOU ARE THE SURVIVOR OF SOMEBODY THAT'S COMMITTED SUICIDE OR IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT IT YOURSELF IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT YOURSELF THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT CARE WE DO LOVE YOU AND THERE IS A REASON FOR YOU TO LIVE YOU DON'T REALIZE RIGHT NOW HOW MUCH HURT AND HEARTACHE IT WILL CAUSE WITH YOU NOT BEING AROUND ANYMORE EVEN THOUGH IT MAY HURT RIGHT NOW IT WILL SNOW HURT SO MUCH MORE IF...
Read moreA dog park is for dogs to play together. If you want to play fetch with ONLY YOUR DOG then a dog park isn't for you. Don't get mad at dogs for wanting to engage and play with your dog but because you're a KAREN no other dogs are allowed to play with yours or fetch balls you throw. You can't expect all the dogs in the park to not socialize because you prefer isolation with just you and your dog. Go somewhere else and be alone with your dog. There is a side for big dogs and little dogs. If your small dog can't handle playing with bigger dogs then don't bring them to the side with big dogs. And don't get mad at dogs who are off leash in an off leash dog park because you choose to leash your dog and won't allow them to play all the other dogs. If you're visiting, don't miss the Nature Center on Gregory Blvd, which is also in a fairly new, big facility.
I know there's lots of other things to see and do in Swope Park, but I've never used any of the other facilities, such as a public pool, baseball fields, fishing lake or the beautiful picnic shelters.
