The Bartlett Arboretum is and always will be the most gorgeous and healing of landscapes. Wichita is blessed to have 3 area botanical gardens to choose from, Botanica, the Dyck Arboretum in Hesston and the Bartlett Arboretum. Of all these, the Bartlett holds my heart because the gardens burst their beds with wild abandon and this semi structured growth speaks to my soul. In life, we make our beds with the plans we build and with any luck we grow over those structures through resilience in adversity and change. Such is the Bartlett. Within its welcoming walls you will find formal gardens, wooded paths, a darling white arch bridge, tree house platform, victory garden and award winning trees of all varieties. For only a suggested $5 donation you can amble through each setting as your spirit soaks up all the rich variety the arb has to offer. My husband and I were married here in 2016 and I've photographed weddings here under my business Sarah Jane Silvers Photography and each experience was transformative. Robin, caretaker of the arb is always warm, courteous and informative. If you haven't treated yourself to a visit, you deserve the experience and even if you have visited before, come back soon because you never step into the...
Read moreTook clients here today to take there two year olds birthday pictures, we were there for about 40minutes and a women had approached my clients mother and made a comment about there being a DONATION box up at the front and implying we should leave a DONATION which I had no problem doing however that wasn’t my clients job and that was somthing I would of been more than happy to deal with at the END of our visit. The lady then goes to say how photography is $25 and that it sais that online 😂 A donation is a DONATION not somthing you should feel rudely obligated to give because a rude old group of women obviously checked and saw that you hadn’t on your way in. It was extremely mean and crotchety just like every women who was there gardening today and I will be taking my clients to another nature center to take pictures from now on. Don’t seem so desperate next time and have...
Read moreAttempted to take our grandson here today. We got there around 4:00 and closing is at 5:00 was told by the ladies standing at the front that it was 10.00 per person to enter or 15.00 per person to attend the concert they were having today. They stated it was all donations of course but mandatory donation to enter. If you are going to charge a mandatory donation of 10.00 per person you really need to put on your website that there is an admission fee of 10.00 per person to get in because we was not allowed entry today. There was 4 of us as our daughter was with us also. We could have given a donation but to spend 40.00 to walk through for an hours time is just too high dollar for us. Sadly we will not...
