We went on the 1st Friday it was opened. I understood that it was probably going to be chaotic, so I was prepared. When we got there there was nobody to wait for us which is fair because it's a small place. There was one group of people of around 7 waiting before us. After waiting for around 7-8 minutes without anybody checking on us, there was another couple that came in, and a staff member instantly checked up on them. Then soon after more groups came in. They were all checked up on before us. Finally, after around 12-15 minutes, someone finally asked us how many were in our group. Just 2 of us. And the first couple that came in before us got sat down. I thought ok that's fine. Then the second group also got sat down before us, which was a little irritating. Finally, after probably 30-40 minutes, we got sat down. We ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer, and honestly, they were pretty good. We really enjoyed them. I tried to order the chicken fried steak, but they were out. I thought ok they've been super busy, that's fine. So I ordered the fried chicken, and my fiance ordered the nowhere burger. Both with mac and cheese, and I got mashed potatoes, and she got fries. Her burger looked great, and she really enjoyed it while my chicken was honestly not very good. It was overcooked and tasted like it had been cooked in oil that needed to be changed. Both of our mac and cheese bowls were cold. That was disappointing because it looked great and had the potential to taste really well if it wasn't sitting out till it got cold. My mashed potatoes were great. Her fries were good. Overall, i was a little disappointed even having my expectations in check. I will try it again soon and update my review. It would have gotten a 2 star, but the place was slammed, and the food definitely would have been better if the staff wasn't being rushed. I am excited to try it again and hoping that this will change to a 4 - or 5-star restaurant I can tell everyone about.
Edit: I'm going to leave it at 3 stars. The food is definitely great. The meatloaf is amazing. Some of the best I've had. The breakfast is great. They need to work on their mac and cheese, though. It's always cold. The staff will look past you in a heartbeat, too. I don't think it's intentional. But even when they are slow, it takes forever at times for a staff member to take your order. Overall, 3...
Read moreMy son and I decided to try this out on opening day. They were absolutely slammed, but we only had to wait a few minutes to get a table. Their staff was so kind and kept apologizing for being so busy, but they were hustling to get it all done.
First we had the cheese curds to share. They were so delicious! You don't even need the ranch, but it was a nice addition.
Then my son had the BFE Smash Burger & I had a regular Smash Burger, ketchup only no cheese. This is hard for many established restaurants to get correct, but NoWhere Grill nailed it on the first day while overflowing with people. Both plates came out hot and the food was delicious. I love that the fries had seasoned salt! Not too much either. It was great.
We finished by sharing some peach cobbler. It was superb! My son even said it was better than his grandma's (Please don't tell Grandma! Lol)
The whole time we were there several members of the staff came by repeatedly to make sure we were doing okay and apologize for the wait. When you have that many people on the first day, we expected a wait. The atmosphere was great and we enjoyed visiting with other patrons on the patio while we waited. Our server made sure our drinks stayed full and we just took it all in.
Thank you for bringing such and iconic little mom & pop restaurant with a modern flare to our little town. I am absolutely certain we will be...
Read moreWe had an experience similar to a review posted a couple of weeks ago. Three of us visited last night after hearing the buzz about the Nowhere Grill. The atmosphere was great, and we were seated about 10 minutes after arriving. We ordered drinks and food about 10 minutes later; the drinks arrived in about another ten minutes. We watched other parties get seated, order, receive their food, and leave while we were still waiting. After about another 30–40 minutes, our server came by to tell us they had lost our ticket but said the food would be right out. It seemed like another 30 minutes before the server returned to say it was almost ready. When our food finally arrived, one of the orders was supposed to be the fried chicken dinner, but they brought the chicken fried steak instead (which had an upcharge). It was just okay. The buffalo chicken sandwich had a very thin patty smothered in spicey buffalo sauce. The macaroni and BBQ beef were barely warm. Overall, it wasn’t the experience we expected - especially for nearly $80. Maybe it was just a bad night, but it’s probably not a place we’ll be returning to...
