I went with my husband & 3 kids. We kicked the walk off with a friendly competition on the swings at the playground and ended up laughing at each other for 5 minutes straight. We walked both the north & south walking trails. The grounds are immaculate & the scenery around the creek is beautiful. We didn't have a problem with our car being messed with or see any seedy people. Our kids really enjoyed the workout stations sprinkled along the north trail.
As a group, we felt safe. As a woman, I personally wouldn't walk them by myself because of all the trees, bushes & high grass. In some areas we couldn't see anyone in front or behind us. However, there were women by themselves who seemed very comfortable. Perhaps if there were more people out & about I would feel safer if I was alone.
The surrounding neighborhoods had sidewalks & a bridge to get easy access to the trails. My watch calculated 3 miles exactly when we finished the south trail & was standing at the crosswalk to go back to the north trail. There was a beautiful melting pot of different ethnicities.
