Visited Anini beach a few times whilst we stayed in Princeville in May 2023 with my partner. Anini beach is beautiful we walked the full length of the beach. The sea is super cam which would be great for kids and Snorkeling, there is a chance you may see turtles. The trail down from the Princeville side is quite steep and slippy when wet so sensible foot ware is recommended. The Anini beach campsite side is much easier for access, as you can get there by car so parking is available. There is restrooms, showers and pic nic tables. The beach walk is lovely with nice ocean front properties looking over the beach and people fishing and having barbecue's. I highly recommend visiting Anini beach if your in the north shore area. Awesome beach for snorkeling! A local gentleman recommended this beach to us, and it was pretty sweet. He said to stay to the right of the boat ramp to avoid the boats and wing surfers, and I can confirm that they were both there. Close to the beach, the bottom looks pretty average and unexciting, but if you swim quite a ways out you come upon an incredible coral reef. It's not deep at all but is a long way from shore. Once I got out far enough, there were sea turtles, puffer fish, and all kinds of other sea creatures I don't know the name of. It got windy and rainy a few times, but they all passed pretty quickly. Remember to give the turtles space, I believe state law requires that you stay at least 10 feet away from them.

We visited midday on July 6, close to the holiday weekend. It was quite busy/crowded. Parking was easy, a rarity on the north shore, and the services are good -- bathrooms and an outdoor shower. Wind was high and the current strong enough that snorkelers left the water a couple of times. Keep an eye out for boats which we saw get uncomfortably close to snorkelers once or twice. Beautiful wildlife and the reef is quite accessible; would like to come back on a less windy day.

One of my favorite beaches because of the shallow protected waters created by the massive reef here. You can walk way out into the water and see colorful fish without even needing to swim or snorkel. Just make sure to watch your step and your hands and stay off the reef.

Make sure to be respectful (everywhere, but particularly here where the coral is so abundant) and don't stand on or touch the coral. Remember, it is made up of lots of living organisms and your fingers and feet will kill it. Make sure everyone is wearing reef-safe sunscreen too to protect this very...
