This is one of my favorite beaches on Kauai, secluded, not a lot of people visit it because it requires a drive along an unfinished dirt road full of pot holes. The way Google maps tells you to go is not accurate. You need to go past the Grand Hyatt Resort & Spa golf course and turn left at the fork in the road. To the right takes you to CMJ Country Stables. To the left & access to Gillin Beach & Makauwahi Caves, you will have to hike down a dirt/sand path. The rocks can get slippery when wet & watch for twigs in the sand path. Read moreI attempted to go to this beach. However, on the way an extremely rude older man blocked our path by lying and saying it was a private road. There are no signs to indicate this and I later verified this iswas a public road. This was clearly an extremely rude local trying to prevent tourists from accessing the beach. This man stood in the center of the road and refused to answer any questions or communicate in any way.
