We have used this store before in the past pre-Covid and it was a great experience. However, we visited in July and it was a totally different experience. I am not sure if new management took over, but there were a couple of issues that occurred. There is not great communication present in the store though we only interacted with two employees both days we were present. The first day when we placed the order (a week in advance as advised to ensure proper stamping regulations) the two associates did not communicate well enough as the one took the order and had the other ring us up. We ended up getting charged for shipping though we talked that we were going to check them on the plane. We noticed it and got the transaction canceled and thought it was just a slight mistake.
However, when we went to pick up our pineapple it almost seemed as a surprise. When we went in and asked for our order, we were given half of our order. When we asked for the rest the employee almost seemed surprised grabbed another portion, but did not have any others left. He asked to see our receipt as he was unable to find the record of our sale in their system and once we showed him he talked with the manager. When he came back he said they could ship them to us, which we were fine with, until they said we had to pay the shipping which was almost 70+ dollars. We were told to pay for their mistake because they had a lot of orders to process! We decided to take their offer of refund on our missing pineapples instead of paying a huge amount to ship to us. However, we did not receive our refund. I called back two weeks later and someone said they would get this to a manager and they would contact me back. After two weeks we still did not receive a refund and I called again and was told the same thing. I still have not received the refund. We were very disappointed about this experience and would be sure to contact the store once on the island to order any pineapple and then also contact a couple of days before picking them up to ensure your full...
Read moreWe had just left Kauai, and did not take home a Kauai White Sugarloaf Pineapple, or two, (big mistake) which were in season, and we ate some of this delicious island treat every day while there. They're amazing! Mangos were in season, too! So, I called the Pineapple Store to see if they would ship me some Kauai White Sugarloaf Pineapples. They only had 1 that was refrigerated, so they didn't want to ship it because it would spoil. But she said they would be talking with one of their farmers and would call me back if they could get any more. The season was ending, so I wasn't expecting a followup call. Well on Monday they called me and had gotten 5 fresh pineapples in. I couldn't resist, I bought them all! To share as great gifts for my family, donate to a charity auction this weekend, and for a birthday gift! They promptly shipped all 5. Not cheap, but worth every penny to me. Such a unique, quality gift/product. They came perfectly packed in excellent shape via UPS. Could not be more happy with the impressive service that I received from Kristin and Darnell! THANK...
Read more@daniel, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience you experienced during your visit. Our goal is always to provide our customers with the best quality, locally grown pineapples, but there are times when supply is limited due to seasonality and farm availability. When this happens, we do our best to find alternatives so guests aren’t left empty-handed, but we understand this can be frustrating and not the experience you were expecting.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we’ll be reviewing how we handle these situations so we can better communicate with our customers in the future. Your feedback is valuable, and we hope you’ll give us another chance to provide you with the fresh, local fruit we’re proud to share from Hawaii
