We stumbled upon Yanney Heritage Park by seeing a sign that piqued our curiosity. Googled for directions, found it, and enjoyed a great walk, a climb to the top of the tower, and enjoyed the sculptures and art - including a massive Chihuly tree! I have an attraction to labyrinths, their history, and their meaning, having participated in building one 30+ years ago, it was significant to find one here. We missed the peak season of nature's beauty, but were able to see what had grown and bloomed here. There's a lot of construction going on right now. We'll make a point to return and view the botanic gardens next time we're back in town, spring or summer....
Read moreThis is an awesome park in Kearney. There are many trails to walk that are all sidewalks, which is very accessible. There is a great pond/lake in the center of the park where several people were fishing. There are also several buildings, which I assume the host events at? I'm not 100% shoote about it. There's a cool lookout tower to walk up and see the entire park from a great view. These main attractions that we stopped for were the playgrounds and splash parks. Read moreThis park is probably my favorite as far as recreation is concerned. I like the design of the playground. It is much more toddler friendly than the other playgrounds we have. There are more options too so kids don't get too crowded in one spot. There's also the lake there, which is a nice place to relax and wade. The only downside is that the trees there are all fairly young so there aren't very many shady spots to sit. They could certainly improve on their shady seating, particularly around the playground area. Parents are baking...
