Had fun picking sunflowers. One word of advice, if it's raining & there's plenty of staff, please have staff be kind enough to give assistance when needed. I say this becauss it began to storm suddenly & we headed back to our cars. There were only 3 families there total...as we rushed back walking the dirt trail/mud trail...we were passed 2x by a young boy employee and a girl on a gator...which everyone thought was going to give us a ride but ignored us. No biggie but the people In front of us were elderly and when there is a slight slope, they fell in the mud ( one pulled the other down). It is now lightening out & They could not get up. We were afraid to walk the slope & fall on them but they needed help. I walked on the side rocks to help them up.. I was with my teenage daughter, and she has had recent spinal surgery ( but otherwise appears to be a young & healthy kid) & so she can't try & help but I worried that it could've been bad if she had fallen too. .We did get them up,, of course but, even the elderly noticed there was a guy driving by during all this & was parked at the front gate sitting on a Gator, with 2 other people? But ...no help whatsoever? Just passed us while we struggled. Very bizarre. Just didn't sit right with me or the elders who were trying to get out of the electrical storm that started. Otherwise it's a lovely place & lots of fun was had even...
Read moreWe did the wine your way out experience. The staff was great. We received 8 wine samples. They had food trucks some games and live music (not sure if the food trucks and music are there all the time). Buying tickets in advance is a little cheaper, but we received pretzels (and materials to make a necklace if we chose to) and a Lunchables inspired charcuterie. It was a fun afternoon. My 4 instead of 5 stars is because we did not receive a map of the maze so we did wonder around (once even outside the maze) looking for the samples. They do time entries so the maze was not packed, which our group found nice. The maze is enormous but only had 4 stations each giving 2 samples it would be nice if they were more spread out. One of the stations was so far removed we heard it got skipped a lot. We only found it by accident when we followed a trail outside of the maze. If they were more spread out that may not have happened. Also switching dry and sweet at each station, I kind of didn't taste the nuances in wines I tasted last. The weirdest rule though was outside the maze, on your way out you could buy each wine you tasted but you couldn't open them on the premises? We tasted wine, there was booze for sale at the trucks...it felt weird to draw the line there. It would have been nice to share a bottle with our charcuterie...
Read moreLove this maze! We did our very first ever corn maze at Expedition Everest in 2018 and even at night!! We had such a blast we went back for flashlight nights in 2019 too. Cant wait until the 2020 season to see what they design this year. The maze makes it a very fun challenge and doing the maze at night is really cool!
