Spring Valley State Park — Attraction in Keizer

Nice little hidden gem I discovered not too long ago coming back from Hillsboro. Decided to stop and take a look. Fell in love with it and decided to try it out with one of my engaged couples for their photo shoot. Glad we did it. It was a cold, but nice Winter day in January. Be able to identify and AVOID nettles. This wild and well maintained park has a wonderful variety of grasses, mosses, wildflowers, ferns, fungi, trees in various stages of life, streams, climbs. Complete with “beachfront” on the Willamette River. Great place for off-leash dogs!

While it’s a nice park near the river it’s not as nice as it could be now that what used to be a restroom structure has been removed and only a small portable toilet is onsite with no working lock and broken urinal pipe. Hopefully plans are in the works to build a new restroom facility or at least have functional portable...
