Samano's Hobbies — Attraction in Kemah

Stopped by for my first time 30 min before closing today to grab some fuel for my first nitro RC buggy since its the only RC shop in my area. Clerk noticed the price being a bit funny so he checked online and even phoned someone to verify and I ended up paying less than the marked price so i'm thankful he took the time to check; they seem to genuinely care about doing things right. While I waited on the price check I poked around and grabbed a model rocket (an uncommon estes mini Comanche 3 stage kit) since hobby lobby doesn't carry it and I've sparsely seen it for the same price, even online. Solid shop and prices are very competitive with online retailers and in some cases actually a lot better since you aren't paying shipping. Their main focus seems to be RC cars but there is still a respectable collection of RC airplane, boat, scale model kits, and rocket kits. Will definitely be making return trips for fuel and potentially more impulse model...

One of the best Hobby Shops in Houston or in Texas for that matter! It’s very rare in todays fast food internet cheap gotta have it today Hobby business to find a shop with hands on knowledge and driven customer service. I am into large scale model airplanes and boats and at times need some rare electrical cable or misc hardware and Samano’s delivers! Always friendly and ready to help, not too mention often offering technical assistance or a complex soldering job for free! They seem to really shine in the RC Car department with above average selection and assistance with newbies entering the hobby. I should also mention the selections of water craft, Sailboats, powerboats, ships, even a little guy on a surf board! Most ready to run and enjoy…..seriously I can’t say enough about this shop! Absolutely the ONLY R/C hobby shop I deal with anymore. These guys (Mike & staff) are patient, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. They keep an awesome, constantly updated, large selection of model aircrafts and parts. Amazingly, their inventory is priced to match or beat many online prices. I'm a native Houstonian and have been in the hobby for 30+ years. I love this place. I can promise you these guys are one of the last surviving R/C hobby storefronts for a really good reason: They love what they do and they treat all who walk through their front doors with respect.
