They close at 4:00 pm, period. We get there at 3:15 thinking that we had time to check it out. I had reviewed their website prior to going, and didn't see anything about the only way to see the museum was through a guided tour, or that with a family of four it would cost $40.
The parking lot was empty when we got there, the lady was sitting in her chair at the front door as if she were waiting on someone to come up. When we get there she quickly informed us that the museum closed at 4:00. I said thank you, and that it was only 3:15. She then proceeded to tell us that the guided tour takes an hour and that it would be $40.
That was pretty much where we left it. She wouldn't take us on the tour at 3:15, but there were no signs saying that the museum closed at 4:00, or that no tours left after 3:00. Confusing. Didn't look like it would have been worth $40 either. Read moreThis is definitely one of my favorite parks. It's the Butler Longhorn Museum in League City and I've been coming here for about 20 years. It's got a pond put a small island in the middle with an outlet that leads to Clear Creek. It's got a jungle gym and playground for the kids and a beautiful garden on the side of the mansion. They do wedding receptions and events here they also have an art gallery on the third floor of the mansion. There's fishing and plenty of wildlife in the water as well as a ton of beautiful flowers and plants. There's a small grapefruit Orchard on the side as well as an outdoor kitchen and barbecue setup. This one is a must visit. It's great for the adults and the children alike. The park is always clean and well-kept there is plenty of parking and picnic areas with tables and benches. And you can't miss the beautiful view of the water. I highly recommend this are cats one of my...
Read moreI love longhorns. If you are even slightly interested in them you'll find the museum informative and interesting. We learned the economic impact longhorns had on Texas after the Civil War. How so many were driven to market they were almost excinct going into the 20th century. If you enjoy history, longhorns are a very real part of Texas history and the museum should be included in your plans.
I think this will be interesting for children as well as adults. I learned a great deal and although small the museum has some great displays especially when you...
