Hello, Very nice staff, pleasent easy to talk to,family owned feeling.although the young girls working there definetly need to be better trained in fish keeping , fish sexing and fish tankmates, after all thet are suppose to be the people in the know how..when customers are not sure of fish sex or behavior, staff always runs to manager( sorry don't recall the name ),shes knowledgeable, but only one person and supper busy ,so many times its difficult to have her total attention for your purchase, owners the two brothers definetly (IMO)need to spend more time there,at least on weekends, when they are the busiest.. most troubling issue is,theres no-where on the web site thats keeps you informed of new fish arrivals..some of us dont live down the street ,so if you want to know whats new either you make the long drive there (with many times empty results ) or you buy online, and not waste time and gas...also for sure needs to carry more sa/c/a cichlids,,sajicas ,nicas, elliotis etc ( at the very least not the same stuff every other fish store also has0..not whole world is into only africans.. avoid yourself a world of headahe , my suggestion to everyone, always quarintine your fish from here, half of the time they have ick...prices are average to online and other fish stores along the way there... on the upside very decent selection on smaller fish, barbs, tetras so on.worth the visit every now and then but not all the time, without even knowing what they have that week....just an honest...
Read moreAfter two separate purchases from this tropical fish store (1st 15 guppies for $75) and then (12 guppies for $36), I'm afraid I can only give it one star, despite its impressive variety of guppy species. I have been keeping guppies for years, and my experience with these fish is anything but amateur. I have had established tanks and ponds for years. Both times I bought guppies from this store, they ended up dying within 2-3 weeks due to a mysterious white disease, which was resistant to the various treatments I tried.
During my second visit, I spoke to a staff member about my previous experience and pointed out a few sick fish in their tanks. Unfortunately, the staff member did not take my concerns seriously or isolate the affected fish. I attempted to select healthy guppies from other tanks, but after just over a week, they all started showing symptoms of the same white disease.
It is genuinely disappointing because the guppies at this store are indeed beautiful, but their health leaves a lot to be desired. I cannot recommend purchasing guppies from this store until they address their health issues. I have now spent a combined $200 between guppies and medicine...
Read moreThe Neighborhood Fish Farm is an amazing place! I've been going for years now, and they've only been improving the plant stock and quality of fish they have, as well as variety. All staff members are very knowledgeable and have awesome recommendations. Their vast selection of fish will stun you, and there's a little of everything for everyone, including people with ponds. If you are wondering if this fascinating spot has tanks everywhere, you're partially correct. Most of their fish are actually located in cement tanks that are laid out conveniently in rows and all labeled for consumer ease. They have glass tanks of all sizes lining the walls of the entrance and plant section. Another thing to know is the entire store is run by well water. As far as selling aquarium parts, tanks, decorations, and gravel, they have everything you need and more. It's a one stop shop for everything aquatic. THEY ONLY SUPPLY FRESHWATER FISH AND AQUARIUMS....
