I'm not really reviewing this as a park, but more as a walk for those of us trying to get our weekly miles in. I clocked in almost 3 miles here my first time....... first going to the left from the path out of the parking lot, around the lake and then up the meadow to the street, turning around and coming back and then going straight instead of turning up to the pk lot. It's a nice little workout too with a bit of 'rolling hills', and the paths i took seem to be either dirt, boardwalk or gravel. It gives you a lot more cardio than greenlake without all the people. I look forward to taking this walk quite a bit.
This was the first time I had ever been to this park despite living in Kent for the last 12+ years. As for the facilities, there are a lot of benches scattered throughout the park, however there is no bathrooms and the small parking lot will hold maybe 10 cars (although I noticed that on 240th the school is across from that side of the park and there is a nice shoulder on the road). Also when I went the dock was closed due to repair work...
Read moreClark Lake Park is the perfect little weekday escape for an exciting dog walk. I go this this park approximately monthly, and it's a gem. You can almost forget you are in the suburbs, if not for the omnipresent street noise, the racing cars and gunshots in the near distance, garbage collecting everywhere, random people just hanging around doing sketchy stuff, safety glass glittering every parking lot, and overly aggressive police slithering away when they see any potential for public service. I included some of Kent's premier poetry in the photos below. I must agree with them and am thankful it's not the opposite; I don't want to imagine the effort to remove those slivers. Parking is scarce, so steal a spot from the church across the street and brave crossing the five lane road so your dog can duke in peace, just be sure to clean up after yourself so this park does not turn into the cesspool that is...
Read more25jan2021 10:30 while driving along SE 240th St, i noticed a 6 vehicles parked in a small lot .. Being a little inquisitive, i stopped by the large sign which indicated that there's Clark Lake Park. i parked my vehicle, and there's parking spaces availabe for 2 or 3 vehicles. i only did a short Lollipop Loop (Parking - Clark Lake Viewpoint) .. probably, 0.7 mi (30 mins) cos i wasn't warmly-dressed for the chilly ~40d_F weather. Amd i plan to return another time to fully visit the area around Clark Lake and its Wetlands. Clark Lake was serene and lovely .. Saw a total of 2 adults and 1 toddler during my ~30 mins there; the people were friendly, courteous. Also, the Park was clean and seemed well maintained. Also, the Trail and Boardwalk were in good condition (though wet cos of the recent wet weather). Thank y'all Parks & Recreation at...
