First it's "BOLTZ" (not Bolz) Very good fishing lake. About 90 acres. Lots of inlets and structure for almost any kind of fishing you do. It's idle speed only. Of course at 90 acres, You'll want a large battery if you're doing trolling motor only, but I'd say a five horse motor would be ideal for maneuvering around this lake. I'm only giving it three stars because the last half mile of the road to the launch is only one lane, and it's hard to imagine two cars pulling trailers meeting on that road. Also the launch itself is a little tricky with dropoffs on either side that make me ultra alert every time I launch there. Parking is limited, but fortunately, every time i've been there, I've been able to park within a short walk of the launch area. I can't imagine partying in an outhouse, but the kids or residents in the area must really be hurting for amusement, because the Porta Potty seems to be deliberately vandalized regularly. Fortunately I've seen the Service company out there several times when I've been fishing there, and I'd guess it's cleaned at least...
Read moreCame to Boltz lake to paddle and didn't unload. This lake is really clean looking but one of those that are small and residential. If you are local, then it's a great place to go. But I wouldn't recommend it as a kyaking trip. Also beware of just Google mapping Boltz lake as it will bring you to a private drive, just go a little further and got will see Boltz lake Rd, follow it past the house stables.
