First, let me say, I want to be as fair as I can. This campground is very old, but has potential. It is owned by a young couple, who I'm sure took a huge hit in 2020 because of COVID. I chose this campground because it was one of very few in close proximity to The Ark Encounter that had full hook-ups. I made our reservation a couple of months before our stay. I was given the option to chose the site we wanted. There was never anything that popped up regarding a "lock in" fee to assure we would get the site I reserved. When we arrived, we had been bounced around within the very few full hook-up sites they have available to where we ended up on the far side of the office in a site that had an electrical pole with wires drooping over the site. It looked like an area that was for utility parking, not a camp site. Needless to say, we were not at all happy. We refused to park there. They did eventually put us in the area on the other side of the office where our reservation was originally made. This was leading up to Labor Day weekend, and they made it sound like they had larger rigs than ours coming in, and they needed those five sites for those larger units. We stayed on a Wed. and Thur., checking out Fri. morning. One of those larger sites was never used the entire time! The owner was quite rude with us, as and walked away into the office, and didn't come back out. His wife, who was carrying a relatively new born child, was very apologetic, and explained her husband had been so busy all day he hadn't had a break, and was hungry and a bit cranky. I'm sorry for him being in the position of having to do all the maintenance, run the office, etc., but in a service industry, one has to put his/her best foot forward in order to build a successful business, no matter uncomfortable things can get. This is a good campground for folks who just like to sit back with a campfire and relax. If you are traveling with children, be ware, there is nothing for them to do. The amenities--bathrooms, showers and laundry--are very old and run down. They do their best to keep them clean and tidy. There are some cob webs and those long legged spiders that are often found in corners creating the cob webs. Not everything works; one of the two sinks in the women's bathroom is taped off. We did not use the laundry facility, so I cannot comment on that. We did not see anything that looked like a store in the office building, but there is a gas station convenience store near by. The road leading to the campground is very narrow without a shoulder, and the edges in some areas is breaking away. A larger rig would not be able to safely get off to the side when meeting another vehicle. Of course, the campground has no control over that issue. Once we got set up on our site. I went online to go through the process of making a reservation to find out about this "lock in" fee the owner mentioned. I think he fixed the web site after I told him there was no such thing mentioned when I made our reservation, because it was there when I was finally able to login. I definitely would have paid the extra $10 when making the reservation, and did offer to pay it when we checked in. It is definitely something you will want to do, if you want a full hook-up site, as there are very few to start with, and their computer program will automatically shuffle reservations among the full hook-up sites according to the size of your unit, regardless of the fact the reservation process gives you the option to...

Pros : Close to Ark Encounter (about 15 minutes). The spot we got is close to the laundry and bathroom. Getting in and and out, you don't need to do some backing even using a big RV. Cons : Ron and Carol runs the place. But here's what turns me off and I want to give you advise when you book: I called and spoke with Ron. We booked for 4 nights and about A WEEK before the trip we realize we only need 3 nights. So I called and Carol answered the phone. I told her that we will not make it on the first night. So I want to change the booking to just 3 nights. Please note we didn't cancel our stay. I clearly asked Carol if its OK we will change it to 3 nights and not pay 4 nights. I understood she noted my message and would inform Ron.. However, when we arrived, Ron billed us for 4 nights! I told him I called in advance for the change and said if I could speak with Carol. Ron replied that they don't accept cancellations. But the thing is we did not cancel and I called in advance. He said he was not informed by Carol. I didn't bother to argue because Ron has an intimidating character. I left upset by his attitude. I checked their website and it only mentions of cancellations. Also in our case, we called in advance. I guess they just don't care. Well next time visiting the Ark, me and my friends wont be coming back and I-75 Camper Village wont get our recommendations. That is why I advise you guys if you still decide to use their campground had have date changes, make sure to speak with Ron and NOT Carol. He seems to have the last say. Don't rely on Carol and leave her your message. Ask for Ron or else you'll be sorry. On top of that make sure you record your conversation with Ron for he might have different words when you get there. Besides, their restroom/bath is infested with cockroaches! Also, when it rains, the sewer hookup is under water! be sure to call them ask to pump the water out. Don't do it yourself. Lastly, the road leading to and out the camp is so narrow. It appears they've been in business for decades and yet they don't mind working with local government to...

The people that run it seem like they are on vacation as well and don’t want to be disturbed. The man didn’t even look up from the game on his phone. He also pointed to the wrong power box and we didn’t have any power until morning when we could see the correct power box. Also the wifi shuts off half way through watching a movie and they offered zero help. The showers are dirty and have wallpaper peeling off walls. The drain is plugged and by the time ur done a shower in are standing in an inch of water. Eww. The location is beautiful but they need new workers for sure. I’d like to reply to your reply The gentleman that did not look up from his phone did not call anyone at least not while we we standing there for many minutes You happened to walk up and told me that your internet in your office was working just fine. Then later in the conversation you said yours was hardwired in so not sure why you told me it was working fine other then to brush me off. Oh and it wasn’t the speed I was complaining about and you knew that as well. The internet stopped working all together half way through a movie. The gentleman also showed my husband and son the wrong electrical box he pointed to the box with a plastic bag on it and that one had no power. The correct one was on the pole a few feet away. If he doesn’t work there what is he doing showing anyone anything? We were there for 4 nights and didn’t see anyone working on any water /sewer at all. The paint that is peeling is wall paper in the woman’s bathroom and what about the spider webs and the dirty soap holder that is dripping old used up soap. If you are not going to look after things then don’t make...

Such an improvement over the last time we stayed almost 2 years ago. I am glad we decided to stay again. They've added a dog park and playground and there is actually usable wi-fi now! The women's bathroom looks so much better and I didn't have to worry about slipping on the old, broken tile floor that used to be in there. One of our favorite additions was the cute, cuddly rabbits and goats that we were able to pet. The kids couldn't get enough of them. It looks like they have installed new electrical boxes at sites to replace the hazardous ones left from previous owners because before they were tiny outlets with exposed wires. We were also told they just finished having a new, bigger sewer system put in so they are definitely making changes to bring this place to current times. We love that they have full hook ups at every site since this is hard to come by in smaller campgrounds. We prefer smaller places like this instead of those big resorts where it's all concrete and crammed together with no grass. The current staff members are much more personable than the previous ones. They're great to talk to, to learn about the history of the campground and the local areas. We love how friendly people in Kentucky are and that keeps us coming back. The campground is close to Walmart and quite a few restaurants including a local one called Kellie's Homestead which had great food. The campground has books in the office about the area that they have put restaurant menues and brochures/coupons for local businesses so I highly recommend picking one up when you check-in.

No firewood. No map, no receipt for our stay. Porta potty smells better than the actual bathroom/shower which smelled like vomit despite recent "renovations" which are only cosmetic changes. Only ONE porta had TP. Could not get to tent site due to bad roads (but they did haul in a scoop of gravel right away and make road passable) and could not use exit driveway as we spun out from loose gravel on steep incline so had to weave through park backwards to get out each time, not easy when roads are built to go one way. Highway noise is very high. Bug zapper noise all night as well. Water running down road (coming out of hill below campers) smelled of sewage. Owner said they plan to pave roads, that would make a TON of difference but overall this camp needs a lot of improvements to be tent camper ready. The few interactions with owner were pleasant but only saw them at check in. They seem like really nice people, just facilities and infrastructure are super run down. DO NOT TENT CAMP HERE. In pic it is the road going straight (that you can't see) that descends into lower tent area. VERY STEEP and my car bottomed out on ruts. TRUCKS ONLY!

June 2023 - My granddaughter and I enjoyed our first Glamping experience at Camper Village. I chose this park because it was close to The Ark Encounter. I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to our camp site. It was secluded and tucked at the back of the park right next to the lake. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, which included a brand new tempur pedic mattress, tv, a/c, two swivel chairs, coffee pot, ice chest and water cooler. Outside were chairs, a picnic table, fire pit and small grill. Safety is always a concern but this site was extremely well lit. The staff was very friendly and readily available whenever I needed anything. The bathrooms were a bit outdated, but the water was hot and they were clean. The only complaint I have is that the site location was in close proximity to the interstate and those 18 wheelers are LOUD! So bring earplugs! Overall experience: Great!! My granddaughter and I made countless memories.
