This is my happy place. Located on highway 826 on the opposite side of Cave Run Lake, the Spillway feeds into the Licking River keeping water levels in the lake in check. There are two pavilions with picnic tables along with charcoal grills. The pavilions are rentable for family events. There is a bathhouse, water fountains and a large swing set, and two play areas for children. Along the banks there are also more picnic tables and grills. There is also a boat ramp for those who want to fish on the river. Fishing is also allowed at the Spillway, but swimming is prohibited due to the swift current. If you don't have a pickup point some where down the river then keep in mind you have to paddle back up river and keep a spare since I broke a paddle going back last time. Nice green area for playing, clean and functional restrooms, covered picnic pavilions, additional picnic tables. Decent fishing in the spillway waters SOMETIMES.
