Upstairs had a kitchenette but seemed strange to have 2 kitchens in 1 house. 1 bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The other bedroom had to go downstairs for bathroom or into 1st bedroom 🤔 to access bathroom.
Main floor had a round dining table which sat 6 people. The kitchen had a beautiful 6 burner range & a griddle plus double oven! Not great lighting in kitchen but I believe the owners are waiting on an overhead range which would add the much needed additional light. The sink was 3 small sinks side by side. Not efficient when washing large dishes if cooking for large family. Very little counter space also. We made it work but was challenging.
The stairway was in the kitchen for upstairs & also another stairway at front of house.
The hallway led to a bathroom accessible to everyone. By the bathroom was a door to the bedroom which had a king & a queen size bed. It also had an ensuite bathroom. The weird thing was it had another door which was the living area, TV, recliner chair & futon sleeper. However, every one had to pass through main floor bedroom to access the living room. Strange floor plan. Whoever stays must like & trust each other!. Bath Towels, hairdryer, washer & dryer, small coffee bar, plates, bowls, silverware, some baking sheets, mixing bowls, etc supplied with cabin. Host are extremely nice & helpful. They will make sure you have everything needed they supply. Would be good for families with boats as there is lots of parking . We had 4 trucks & 2 with boat trailers! We all fit with space for the vehicle for people who stayed in small cabin behind our cabin. There are also 3 small cabins to the north of main cabin but they were far enough away we couldnt here them much.
The main porch was very nice. Large table sat 8 comfortably with a loveseat, coffee table & chair. New charcoal grills & community fireplace for all cabins to use.
We weren't at house much, we were on the boat at Cave Run Lake which is only 5 min down the road. Scott's Creek Boat Ramp is nice & where we usually take boat 5 minutes from Cabin.
Overall, close to lake & cabin met our needs for a 4 day holiday weekend! Took a star away for strange...

I booked Cabin #2 for Labor Day weekend (Friday–Monday, Aug. 29–Sept. 1, 2025) as part of my son and his wife’s 2nd annual family and friends camping trip. We arrived Friday around 6 p.m.
At first glance, the cabin appeared clean, though I noticed a slight odor. Since this was my first cabin stay, I dismissed it as “normal.” We unpacked, placed a few unopened items (like a box of chips) on the kitchen counter, and left to join others in our group at another cabin.
Later that night, we returned, turned on the kitchen lights—and were horrified. Cockroaches were everywhere. When I moved the box of chips, even more ran out. As I inspected further, I discovered baby cockroaches crawling on the floor, counters, tables, carpet, and even the top of the refrigerator.
I immediately contacted the number provided (which I assume belongs to management) via text to report the infestation and requested a full refund. Anticipating that evidence might be necessary, I recorded video footage clearly showing cockroaches throughout the cabin.
Out of concern for bringing roaches back home, I shook out all belongings and removed them from the cabin. My children stayed with family in another cabin, while I was left to sleep in my SUV overnight.
This review is being posted Saturday morning, Aug. 30th, after my first night in the SUV. I have not yet received a response from management.
For now, I strongly urge others: stay away from Cabin #2. This cabin is unsanitary, infested, and unfit for guests. I will post a follow-up review to share how management addresses (or fails to...
Read moreWe just stayed here this past weekend (Dec. 13) for 2 nights. We were in Morehead for son's graduation. - This is a nice quiet, short ride just out of town near hwy 60. And so different and beautiful than staying in the busy little town! - -We stayed in the 'suite'. It was cozy and the view out the window was outstanding. There was room enough for our family of 4. My husband and I enjoyed walking up the 'hill' (drive) each morning. Altho' we technically stayed in the owner's house, we did not even see or hear them once while we stayed. - Very beautiful area, nice cozy accomodations, great deal for the $$. Would definitely stay again! Much nicer than an...
