Considering the location limitations,, this is a great park! Located just outside the city off W. 5th St., it is easy to find and typically never crowded. Even on day's it plays host to ball tournaments, the opposite end of the park remains quiet and peaceful. Jack C. Fischer has everything you could want inside a park: unique playground equipment, short, paved hiking trails that join the longer Owensboro Greenbelt, 2 ball diamonds with concessions, batting practice cages, numerous movable picnic tables, a covered picnic shelter, tons of shade trees, 2 small but pretty lakes with a bridge crossing, fishing allowances and plenty of grassy, open space. The only thing it really lacks are small grills for picnic cooking and concessions/vending machines outside of the fenced ball diamonds area of the park, which is closed on days there is no ball...

No trashcan on the far sides of the trail incase your dog goes potty and you have to pick it up. The entire trail is flat and smooth making it nice for wheelchairs or hoverounds.
