Today my wife and I visited Rising Sons Home Farm Winery, and it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. This charming, family-owned vineyard is tucked away in the rolling hills of Kentucky and is a true gem, and it's clear that the owners take pride in their work and in providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
The wines at Rising Sons are exceptional. Each wine has its own unique character and flavor profile, and it's clear that a great deal of care and attention goes into the winemaking process. There are countless varieties, but my wife and I particularly enjoyed the crisp and refreshing whites, which were the perfect accompaniment to the delicious jam, cheese, and crackers that were also on offer.
The owners of the vineyard were sincerely happy to have us and treated us like old friends. Even their mini Australian shepherds were friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere of the vineyard is charming and relaxed, and it's clear that the owners put a lot of effort into creating a space that is comfortable and enjoyable for guests.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Rising Sons Home Farm Winery. It's a small, family-owned vineyard that offers exceptional wines and a welcoming atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere. Even without an explanation of the winemaking process, it's clear that the owners are passionate about their work and about sharing their love of wine with others. I can't wait to return and enjoy their...
Read moreWe stopped in this jewel on our way home from a weekend trip to Lexington and we are so happy we did! We were warmly greeted by Francine (co-owner and Joey's wife). We purchased the premier tasting. Francine suggested a couple of wines that were out of our "normal" wine preference and we were pleasantly surprised. She also made a few simple sangrias, which were very simple and delightful. We also had 2 cheeses (with the tasting), which made the tasting complete. The cheeses were delicious! We also had the privilege of tasting several wine jellies, which were just heavenly. We ran into a few, very nice locals, which made for great conversation. Near the end of our tasting, Joey came in and did a toast from his grandfather (and founder), which made our experience even more special. If you are passing through or in the area, please stop in here. You will not be...
Read moreBeen wanting to try some Kentucky wine, and my husband and I were lucky enough to stumble upon this winery. The tasting room is located in the house. We were a little hesitant when we stepped out of the vehicle, but were warmly greeted by one of the winery owners, Joey Sloan. The tasting room, like it's owners, was inviting. Francine, Joey's wife and co-owner, was helping us with our tastings. We are mostly semi-sweet to sweet wine drinkers, but she convinced us to get out of our comfort zone and try some dry wines too. Mixed a few of the wines with fruit juices to make our own sangria. She gave us a nice history of her family and their winery. Francine also makes wine jelly, so we received nice samples of that too. Cheese and cracker platters were also available for purchase. One of the nicest winery experiences I've had in...
