DO NOT VISIT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!! I went to Cape Florida Lighthouse and State Park on July 10, 2023 (yesterday) the day of my birthday to celebrate. We got to the park around 10:00 am and started doing some barbecue on the barbecue area. While we were barbecuing there were security golf cars going around us constantly; one of them, a lady named Maria even came to us and told us to move the barbecue somewhere else. We finished and headed to the beach around 1:00 pm. It wasn’t until around 4:00 pm that I got out of the water and checked my phone and saw that 2 of my banks were emailing me about suspicious activity on both of my accounts. We rushed to the car and found the rear window broken and my ID, AirPods, Keys, Wallet with cards and key tags and purse missing. We immediately called the security that was conveniently passing by at that exact moment and then 2 more security guards came as well including the lady named Maria that had told us to move the barbecue previously. They told us that they had been going around but that they didn’t see anything, or heard anything even though when a window is broken like that it makes a really loud noise, plus the alarm of the car that went off as well. The emails that the banks sent me had 1:44 as time of attempted money withdrawal at an ATM on Little Haiti, meaning it had been already around 3 to 4 hours since it had happened. I don’t know what you guys think but how is it that not a single security saw all the glass shattered on the floor, the car window broken and didn’t hear anything in the WHOLE LAST 4 HOURS!!??. It took the police around an hour to get there, they told us it was because if traffic. When they finally arrived they opened an investigation and the other security guards were gone by then, the only one that stayed was Maria conveniently told the police she went to count money at 1:00 pm. We will continue to follow the investigation with the police and I will get to bottom of this. Another lady that was on the beach ran out with us when she heard what had happened and told us that she had heard there had been another 7 cases like this recently. My advice is simply DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO...
