Amazing views, so much potential, but the staff completely destroyed the experience.
My first time going there as I was invited by professional colleagues and friends to have a few martinis after a long and stressful week, we wanted to just relax, enjoy each others company and feel joy after a long week. This was completely shattered by the rudeness, condescending, aggressive, unfriendly attitude of some of the staff particularly one of the bar tenders and the "security" (the worst part of our experience) they have him roaming the premises which honestly made us all feel hostile and he used fear as his method of having a power trip.
Normally would never write a review this long but that's just how bad it was. It is located in a state park so I understand that they legally have to get everyone off the premises, but we were never rowdy or rude, and its all about the way you approach someone, especially people who are paying customers ordering food and drinks at your venue.
The security guard around closing time was picking up chairs and verbally told us "you gotta go" I replied "definitely we will be ready in just a moment" (finishing our drinks that they let us order 15 minutes before closing at the bar knowing that they have to close at a certain time and get everyone out of the park so why not do a last call in preparation of this?) So we are just trying to finish those drinks up and he then replies "not soon you are going to leave NOW" to which me and all my friends looked at each other like "is he joking?" This individual proceeded to get elevated when I felt mistreated and asked if I can speak to a manager and asked him his name (the security guard) and he did not like that one bit, he then asked "WHATS YOUR NAME? OH OKAY I WILL REMEMBER YOU, I WILL KNOW WHO YOU ARE" almost as a threat (in the same tone you can imagine), we at this point began to feel threatened and hostile. Moments later after we tried speaking with him to let him know to try and treat people better he lost control and yelled, was rude and name called my colleagues (who are all professional working and classy ladies) and he walked off. Management apologized and there was nothing they could do. (LOL) Others around us let us know that they had previous bad experiences with this same security guard and so did my friends who had been there before.
So sad because the place is beautiful but please train your staff on how to treat paying customers if they will be working with and around people! You don't yell at guests, and make them feel threatened, this is a classy bar on the water, not a grungy club bar. I would not recommend my colleagues to go here with that kind...
Read moreWhere do I start? Should have looked at their low Google rating before going. Went on a Sunday, place was basically empty (we know now why). There was no live music as advertised. Upon walking into this fully outdoor sand patio bar we were greeted by the security guard who told us: "the whole place is infested with sand flies, sea lice and chiggers, you will need a lot of Benadryl and possibly go to urgent care after". He proceeded to show us his horrible rash on his arms and legs (very inappropriate). After we were seated no waiters for an hour. No problem we went to the bar to order our overpriced and watered down drinks. Beware there is NO food here, there are 3 total appetizers available - "fish dip" that is made with copious amounts of Mayo and random canned fish that comes with 4 saltine crackers for $15, ceviche that is questionably warm for $15 and a "charcuterie board" consisting of 4 slices of supermarket cheese, 4 crackers and 4 slices of stale pepperoni for $20. The waiters are extremely rude and pretend they don't speak English when you ask them a question when I clearly heard them speaking perfect English in the back. Good to know there is only one working bathroom for the entire place that holds a single person, even when the place was empty the line to that bathroom was 12 persons deep. At that point we decided to leave to get actual food and normal drinks when the security guard and a middle aged gentleman dressed like a frat boy ("the owner") came up to us and said that the children were not allowed to get up from their seats and that we had to vacate the premises if they cannot stay seated at all times. For a very casual patio type establishment that welcomes questionable behavior by staff it is very odd they are so anti-family and anti-kids. Nowhere it says ADUTLS ONLY. Do not waste your time and money here, grab a beach chair and a cold one and enjoy the sunset just outside this bar on public property and avoid the bites and...
