You do not need to enter the base to visit the museum. It is outside the main gate. Very thorough, well laid out history of the Army Calvary and troops. It is detailed but can be seen in under an hour, more if you want to read and watch everything available. The staff is very friendly and greeted me as I walked in. They will provide any information you need or let you wander through as you desire. Extremely clean and modern. As an Air Force veteran who fought in Desert Storm I appreciate the contribution of the Army and the men and women who fight alongside us. Recommend you stop by.

As far as museums go, for it's size this one is not bad! Lots of reading. The museum goes through the extensive history of U.S. mounted warfare, with many real life examples to view. They have a lot of stuff packed into this relatively small place, so depending on how much you want to take in or read you could breeze through in an hour or if you're like me and read everything, it could take you all day. Best part is... It's free. 😉 👍👍

Great place for our kids to learn about the base's history and about the army. Displays were beautiful, life size and informative but fun with sound effects and videos. On our way out we noticed the horses and got to pet them! Even though it's a smaller museum I think it was packed with great information. The fact that it's free is definitely a plus!

The museum is very nice and very well organized. Loved all the history and displays. What disappointed me was the host or welcoming person. The soldier did not welcome or at least ask where were we coming from. I have been to a lot of museums and they have professional people at their entrance, welcoming visitors. The soldier was in a DCUs. Why not have the soldier in class A or B uniforme and give him or her a brief statement to say? Show a little professionalism. Or hire a civilian that knows the history of...
