This is the best falls in the park in my opinion. It isn't in the main area and is to the north on Hall Road. There is a small paved parking lot that may hold 20 cars.
The trail to get down to the falls starts downhill. It is relatively easy with sand, makeshift wooden stairs at the beginning. As you get closer to the falls, wooden stairs/boardwalk thing appears as well as rocky steps. These are difficult and steep. So the return trip is tough for most.
The wooden stairs I mentioned let you get to the water's edge (and you could even get into the still-ish water below the falls if you wanted). There is evidence that others have waded in this part as to the rock towers people have created. The falls is higher here with more water than the rest of the falls in the park. Read moreThis is one of our new favorites, water was brisk but not too cool for September. The falls go down a few hundred feet after the pool and lead to a hiking path after that. Wear swimming trunks, but also bring a set of shoes to hike in, the rocks are slippery where the water runs over them.
