A fun and very interesting museum that involves one very productive and innovative family. More than the steam cars the Stanley Steamer they invented which are on display and fascinating you get a glimpse into other passions and exploits that were undertaken. My guide was wonderful and filled with facts. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit.

Small but charming museum! A collection of steam cars, photographic stuff, musical instruments and other info from the Stanley family. Staff were very friendly and it was a nice tour, about 20 or so mins of puttering around.

The docent Kathy was wonderful and spent time explaining everything to me. Small place but very interesting.

They were an Amazingly Creative [ Old New England ] Family, that changed The World !!! First with improvements to photography, then when they began making quite exceptional Steam Powered Automobiles. There are four of their "Stanley Steamer" cars on display, that were very advanced for that time period !!!! There are Great Family photos, with lots of family history to explain. The last "Big" Project was The Stanley Hotel, up in Estes Park, in the Colorado Rockies. This Museum is a...

Hidden gem of a museum, dedicated to the legacy of the Stanley twins and their innovations, most notably the Stanley Steamer. You get to learn how steam engine cars work as well as see a few working models right in the museum. The lady working there spent over an hour giving us a comprehensive history of the building, the Kingfield area, and the Stanleys. Highly recommended, lots...
