Got a 125$ ticket for using the port a John - the whole place was packed , used hazards and all. My son WAS in the car , but he had to get out to hold the spot closed ,bc it wouldn’t lock. I know it was my mistake as an adult , but still feels crappy that I had to pay for an emergency ,and the DNR officer wouldn’t even talk to me to let me explain. The wildlands loop and sweathouse branch are easily accessible by walking under the roadway from the parking lot through the tunnel. The trails were well marked. The Gunpowder trail can be accessed from the parking lot by crossing over stream. There are many narrower paths along the water and it was muddy from the sun thawing out the paths.
