Same group of ppl ruining this place that ruined jones road, leaving the corona cans and plastic food wrappers all over the place like the savage animals they are. Disgusting the parks service and DNR is allowing this because it’s not politically correct to fine them the 1,000 dollars they deserve to be fined.

For a group that all I hear about is them wanting to come to this country for a better life, they sure don’t treat it with any respect smh. Ruining the gunpowder one spot at a time. Pathetic

Btw I can bet anything the majority of those same ppl littering that are fishing, don’t even have a fishing license. Until the DNR and the police grow a pair and start doing the right thing to these ppl, expect more of the same. One day nobody’s gonna be able to use it. Just like jones road.

They even admit at jones road that the “areas gotta recover” so they close it for months at a time and we all pay the price because a certain group of idiots can’t pick up their trash and stop over fishing the place. Goto northpoint state park and the same thing. 1,000 idiots with fishing rods and no licenses leaving their trash behind.

I went to these places for two decades and never seen anything remotely close to the level of destruction until said group started coming around in heavy...

This park has so much going for it. A bevy of picnicking areas, an historic town, hiking trails, a river... the possibilities for you and your family are endless. I enjoyed the hiking trail today, which ranged from flat and gravelled, to rocky, to steep and difficult. There was great tree cover so I didn't overheat, and the parking situation was perfect. The only criticism I have is a lack of drinking water, maybe it was when I was there (Sunday early morning) but they are fairly far from shops and either a fountain or vending machine...

Clean and very well maintained. Jerusalem Mill acts as both offices for the state park as well as a museum. There is a blacksmith shop with live demonstrations on weekends. Jericho Covered Bridge is nearby. Only issue is that the area is very popular (especially on weekends at the mill) and the parking lot is too small to handle everyone so get...

A great collection of trails in the little gunpowder. Flatter along the river, looping through hills to the same field you start from. Historic Ice Farmers and History/maintenance from local scout troops. Very photogenic in spots. It feels safe and there are summer family activities posted. Pets on leash.

Beautiful, original, brick building in a charming central location in historic Kingsville. Very nicely kept surrounding area within close access to the Gunpowder River. Unfortunately, the headquarters building is open by appointment only. Other historic sites and buildings nearby to see.
