First, Elmwood Park is NOT an official dog park. It is part of the city of Syracuse, N.Y. park system. That said, many people walk their dogs there because of the upper wooded trails and the brook than runs thru the lower portion of the park. Not every human is a responsible owner. Syracuse has a leash law so at least bring one with you and make sure your dog has a reliable recall. I love Elmwood and have walked with my dogs there for 20+ yrs. It's a peace of nature within the city. Please...

Lots of nice trails and varied scenery for a tucked away city gem. Stream(s) that dogs and kiddos alike enjoy. Plenty of shade. Fun little side trails in the woods including scattered stone stairs. Great for photographers. Scattered benches and a small playground. No standing grill stations and could benefit from some more trash receptacles, but not generally crowded and even if one section is noisy, it goes on far enough where you can find a quieter spot. We are growing...

My 12&13 and my 3 YR wife luv it. The kids enjoyed the water and seeing school mats their. I enjoyed the bench. I never knew the park was there. But I was quickly sadden to see a large concrete area w/ nothing on it. PS we need to take care of our communities. People leaving trash, on grass, their was no enforcement on polluting nor trash left it needs to be in forced by park patrol. But a nice park I never new it was there have fun everyone PS I picked up ...

A great little gem in the city of Syracuse! Furnace Creek runs through this park with little waterfalls along it's path. There is a stone bridge and many stone stairways to explore. If you like a mini hike, there are some short trails to hike on as well. There is a park playground for the children and picnic tables scattered around the park too. There is a small parking lot. There are paved paths that may be good for biking although they are not very long and are not well maintained.

Beautiful little Park tucked away in the middle of Syracuse! The park looks as if it is getting restored to its original beauty. A nice little stream with several small man made waterfalls runs through the middle of it. There is also a couple trails around it in the shaded woody area. It's a nice little walk to break up the day. Someone has even been building little hut shaped shelters out of the branches that were laying around.

Beautiful place. I was trying to find a map to better guage the layout(I didn't encounter one but it may be around somewhere I didn't notice). Both times I have visited their have been a lot of badly behaved off leash dogs. Be prepared for that and enjoy the beautiful environment.
