Puzzle Warehouse - Retail Store — Attraction in Kirkwood

This is a very shady company. On the website I found a puzzle for my wife. There was a button that said "Click here to see the sale price." When I clicked, a large box popped up with a price in giant font about 2/3 the regular price. But the small print said that this was the price for some magnifying glass and by clicking OK, it got added to my cart. Unaware of their sneak-in-basket tactics, I decide to buy 3 puzzles instead of 2 because of the sale price I thought I had. They wouldn't have fooled me except that these were gifts from my wife and I could hear her coming down the hall, so I finished things up in a hurry. When I later saw the charge, it was almost double what I expected because there was no sale price for the puzzles AND the stupid magnifying glass was added. Their button that said "click here for the sale price" was a lie. There was no sale price. It was just a trick to sneak something extra into your cart. If you shop here, don't turn your back on them and count your fingers when you're done.

If you need more proof of their dishonesty, now that they have my e-mail address, I'm still getting spammed a year later in spite of unsubscribing. I suspect that clicking "unsubscribe" does nothing except tell them that this is an active e-mail address. The "unsubscribe" button is also a lie.

Did I complain to them? Yes. You can read the other 1-star reviews to find out how they deal with complaints. They're oh so willing to make things right....you just have to jump through a bunch of hoops for them first, the hourly wage for which will work out to about 10 cents. They're arrogant and condescending and treat you like an idiot. You can hear their eyes rolling over the phone and over...

Update - I did finally receive my order. They offer great products but I was really disappointed by their lack of interest in making sure I got my order in a timely manner following their error.

This review may change if I ever receive my puzzle but so far It's been 3 weeks and I have not. I placed an order back on 3/24 when their site was saying there was a 1-2 week delay in shipping. Not a problem, totally understandable that they'd be swamped with orders. Then a full week and a half later I receive an email saying that my card could not be charged. They provided a link to update my card information but unfortunately the link didn't actually allow me to update the card on file. After a couple of days I was able to speak to someone on the phone. They explained that the company had waited so long to actually charge my card, after the authorization, that the authorization expired and I needed to provide my card details again. Super frustrating. Why not charge the card on the day the order is placed? And I know that they could have because I received a notice from my bank when they put through the authorization. The employee on the phone was very kind and helpful though. A day or two more passed and on 4/8 I was told that my order was being assembled and would ship out soon. It's now 4/14 and I've heard nothing. I sent another email a couple days ago and I understand that they're swamped but the fact that they egregiously messed up with my card payment and then have no interest in getting my product to me as soon as possible after this delay is endlessly frustrating. I have a friend who placed an order after I placed my order and they received their puzzle about a week...

Shop Elsewhere!!!!!

I am only providing two stars because the online purchasing process was simple and I was able to receive one of the two items I ordered. The item was damaged upon arrival, but is still able to be used. Rather than dealing with this company anymore, I will be keeping this item instead of sending it back. However, the second item was never delivered so I was forced to repurchase the exact product again on Amazon, and it was delivered within 4 days. I recently reached out to Puzzle Warehouse to cancel the item for failure to deliver and they refused to provide the customer support I feel a company should provide. My money and time are far too important to waste with companies like this.

On a side note... Thank you to Amazon and Amazon Global Store UK for getting this birthday gift shipped in perfect condition, and in a timely manner.

UPDATE: March 25, 2020. I have now changed my review to one star because it has been two months since my order# 3191741 was supposedly shipped by DHL and I have yet to receive the item or be credited for the item and the excessive shipping charge by Puzzle Warehouse. They refuse to work with me and DHL will not assist me either because they claim I am not the customer. They have requested I contact the seller but they will not work with me. Heed this warning and...
