We just got a new puppy and were looking for a dog friendly beach. My wife found this one as we noticed many others you only could go early morning or late evening but this beach was anytime!

We went to "Horn Point" which was when you come in go to the left i believe but ask the attendant at the gate and they give you a map. Also, there is big maps there near the bathrooms.

That beach had a handful dogs and no more than a 20 point there, mid day on a Saturday.

The beach itself was not like a normal beach like Hampton or Old Orchard its very rocky and more of a lagoon, but if you are looking to be near water and have somewhere simple and easy to take your family and/or pet to, i would recommend it. If you are expecting waves and a boardwalk and ton of people and loud music and long shoreline this is not for you.

Then we went to "Rocky Beach" which looks like more of a traditional beach but as the name suggests there is a lot of rocks.

I would go back here as the people were so friendly, my puppy met a lot of dogs there, it was not crowded and we had great weather on top of all of this! lol I do recommend...

Argh...I love this place and don't want to write a good review cause I would like it not to be over ran by tourist.

Spring time had minimal people here and the main parking lots were closed. Summertime is likely a completely different story though (haven't been in peak season).

Great little beach, playground, parky stuff. Looks like the renovated not only the pier but the life saving station as well. Back ten years ago it looked ready to fall down last time I was snorkeling around there (along with the pier)... Now it seems like they rebuilt it and looks as though it's almost connected to the pier. Would be sweet if they connected it but it's probably doubtful if they will.

Anyway it's a great park to visit. Oh and the old late 1890's early 1900's military stuff is neat too! Bring a blanket and picnic stuff...

I went for the first time in awhile last Sunday to the park with my daughter and grand kids. I was so disappointed in how many dogs were there. Their must have been over 100 dogs some with 2 and 3 apiece, I felt like I was in a dog park, barking at all times every time someone would walk by with a dog they would jump and bark and they would pee all over the grass where everyone walks or would put a blanket down. Dogs should not be allowed in the park during the day when you are open. All the other beach’s in our area do not allow dogs during the day time. I saw mostly nh cars in the parking lot, thinking this was because no other beach’s allow dogs in the day time on the beach’s, I will not go back until you change the rules,I do love dogs but not while Iam trying to enjoy a day at...

Pepper’s first beach day! We’ve been searching for a beach that allows dogs all day & not just at night or early in the morning. We finally found it 🙏🏼 #beachdog #maine #puppy #westiesarethebesties #westie #coastalmaine

Any place where I can bring my dog & kids is a win! Beautiful beach, they have a water spigot in the picnic area for rinsing and a drink for your dog with a bowl. Great boardwalk for fishing with gorgeous views. Beautiful beach with rocky outcrops for tide-pooling. Some areas of the beach are quite rocky so make sure kids or “friends” with sensitive feet wear footwear accordingly. My kids found hermit crabs and other cool ocean creatures and my fur-baby ran and met some friends of her own. Past the small jetty area and I was told (and viewed others) had their dogs off leash in those areas. There are fees I know it’s $20 a car and $5 for walk-ins and I believe kids are $1. Well worth it! Tired kids and pup is a day well-spent!!
