We love walking here. It gives us the opportunity to really soak in nature. It's just the right length to where we are not feeling wore out walking the entire trail. The trails in this preserve are maintained for the most part. They're kept trimmed so that we aren't getting snagged by the sticker bushes and such. I only wish they would pull gravel from the creek beds more often to avoid the softened, sunken, muddy spots all along the trails. We do appreciate the benched throughout. Our children get tired from time to time, and these benches have provided them a resting spot. These trails are some what stroller friendly. There are places where tree roots protrude from the ground (just makes for a bumpy ride for our toddler). There are no restrooms on these trails, so make sure you've gone before walking. Many of the times we have gone, people have actually been riding their bikes on this trail (even though there is signage saying they are not allowed). In all, it is a great place to enjoy nature and get some exercise...
Read moreSchleman Nature Preserve is a nice alternative from Buckeye Woods preserve. Being right next door this preserve offers wooded/trails on dirt stone pathways. This trail can be or either walking running but no bikes allowed. It would definitely be a nice fall walk. The trail can get a bit muddy. Also it is a bit narrow maybe two people shoulder width. Since you do follow some of the creek I would suggest bringing bug spray in the late spring early summer. With the canopy overhead and not much sunlight getting through, there is about a 5 to 10° temperature drop. Didn't come across very many animals on this trip. From the other parking lot as soon as you enter the trail you come up on a fantastic forest of pine trees. Oh many of the bottom branches have no leaves It is pretty amazing how straight these reach...

Schleman Nature Preserve in Medina is a beautiful, quiet place to enjoy the outdoors. The trails are clean and well-marked, with a few different paths to explore—some that wind through the woods and others that follow a scenic creek. It’s a great mix for a relaxing walk or light hike.
Dogs are allowed on leash, which is a big plus. I brought mine along and we both really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The preserve wasn’t crowded when I visited, making it even more enjoyable.
Overall, it’s a lovely spot to get some fresh air, stretch your legs, and take in some natural beauty. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a low-key...
