Well, I wasn't at Armstrong Park, but across the street from it. Nice little community park, although the retention pond isn't marked off and should be! The loss of a young boy's life was found drowned there. Retention pond waters should have been tethered off, and the city took responsibility for the incident. This review is not saying anything against the park; it's a clean and very active park at times. Not intend to be pessimistic about this young boy's life; I knew the parents and the child was very hyperactive and took off from his house but knew he wasn't allowed there without the boy's parents. But it is something that is a problem with open retention ponds around the city parks. They found the child later that evening drowned. Sad as it is, but it's the truth. Retention ponds in these parks need to be tethered off to help eliminate the problem from ever happening again. I hope you found this review helpful. Best of...

The new playground is really nice! 3 big slides, musical equipment stations, swings and a cool modern merry go round. My 8 year old and I really enjoy and appreciate the updates that the city has done to Armstrong Park. The new basketball goals are also something that I personally have enjoyed since the upgrades were completed. I love the new tennis courts but have yet to find a friend that will play tennis with me. So I've not had a chance to use the new tennis courts. Many thanks to the Parks Department and City of Lafayette for making Armstrong Park a fun and safe place for...

A great neighborhood park. CastAway bay is a great spot to cool off on hot days. The newly revamped playground is an amazing area for kids and family to play and spend a day. The surface around the equipment is a new rubberized material that will ensure the safety of children. The walking path around the pond is great for walking or jogging. The tennis courts are updated and in tip notch condition. The baseball fields are all kept in...

This is a fantastic public park. There is a pool that has areas for young children as well as older kids and adults. Basketball and tennis courts. And most of all the best walking loop in Lafayette. Just long enough for a couple of laps without being too long for those who just want to see the scenery. A beautiful pond with native Hoosier wetland plants and wildlife. I visit weekly at least all through the spring and summer.

This is one of my top parks to visit! The grounds are very well maintained. I haven't been able to watch a baseball game, but the fields are very well dressed. I do a lot walking around this park. I enjoy watching fish being caught. The tennis and basketball courts are clean and maintained. The restrooms are clean. It's a great place to take the kids to play and have a quite picnic.

Great park for walking, playing, fishing, and relaxing on the South side of Lafayette. Baseball/softoball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis courts, playground, and small pool open seasonally are great additions to the hilly, paved walking ribbon wrapped around a lovely pond. Accessible to local neighborhoods by walking paths.
