Hornbeck homestead is an excellent example of the earliest pioneer homestead life in Colorado. As part of the florissant Fossil beds national monument, the grounds and buildings are well maintained, and out buildings were recently restored by historicorps volunteers.
The site is open for viewing, and docents are on site at various times in the summer and usually on Fridays 11-2 to open up the house for touring.
The parking is plentiful and the site is handicap accessible.

I parked in the gravel parking lot near the homestead, where I got out of my park and walked down to the homestead. I got to the homestead and was disappointed to see that all of the buildings in the homestead were locked, so I walked around the buildings and left.
