This serene, passive park is in the shape of a circle. You can find it across the train tracks from the Lake Placid Historical Society Depot Museum. The focal point of the park is a large white gazebo draped in bunting. Throughout the park are paved walkways and benches. The City of Lake Placid uses this park to stage community events like car shows and arts and crafts festivals. Even if there is no events, the park is a peaceful place to sit back and take in some of the murals surrounding the park that Lake Placid is famous for. The gazebo also makes a lovely backdrop or pictures. Devane Park was named in honor of A.H. Devane. He started a large citrus operation along with Ernest Morrow, and E. E. Stewart in 1925 when Lake Placid was founded as Lake Stearns. Mr. Devane was important to the development of the town where he was involved in land promotion and his family made significant contributions to the preservation of the local history.

I go around this circle everyday and have for ever. We were just there for Christmas and my Daughters and I took a few pics in front of the beautiful tree they had set up. They also have a big circle where you can get some exercise in if wanted. Pretty well kept up also.

No supervison after school when the park is flooded with children walking or waiting for a ride. There are numerous days where bullies are waiting to beat up on someone because there's no one there to stop them and it doesn't count for school property. It's absolutely horrifying!!!! Kids are literally left to fend for their own lives and there's no one there to help or keep things under control. Who can appoint someone and give authority to someone to take...

A very rude city worker who was cutting the grass stared aggressively at me while I was trying to enjoy a nice walk with my dog in the park on 7/24/23. I was visiting Lake Placid from another area of FL and did not expect to be greeted with such rude, aggressive behavior. He mumbled a few unintelligible things at me. I would skip visiting this area altogether (and giving your money to these people). This is the worst area in FL that I...
