I would've given a 4 or 5 star rating, but after they needlessly uprooted all the beautiful trees the park used to have, it's never been the same. Now most of the park is parking, and the rest is a very 'municipal' space of mostly grass.

They did recently update and upgrade the playground area, which is nice. There's also some cool Pokemon Go pokestops and gyms, a sweet little visitors center, a reservable converted picnic area, some interesting events throughout the year, and a beautiful dock on the lake that makes for some great photo opps; especially in the summer when the lake is nice and warm, full of friendly faces, and you can rent paddle boards.

Unfortunately, the snack area is rarely ever open, the park bathrooms are often locked when they're supposed to be open, the beach "shower" is in a very unfortunate location that makes your either put your shoes on wet or get your feet completely sandy again, and because they tore out all the trees months ago, much of the wonderful mineral, plant, fungus, and wildlife have disappeared from the park area.

They did (sort of) 'save' a small 'wetland' area, but you're not allowed to enjoy anything more than looking at it, cause it's the only "natural" habitat left at the park.

Generally, this park is clean and safe year round, and is a decent place to take the kids or just enjoy a short walk around the paved path. I like going there often, as it's the closest park to my home, but I can't give it too high of a rating after watching what they did to it. There are plenty of other parks I prefer to go to in the area that are just as well maintained, in great locations, and which the park rangers have preserved most of the natural old growth and integrated it into the modernization of it, rather than...

I live just a few blocks away from the park for the last 15 years. It has a great swimming area and playground for younger children. The swimming area is fairly large and doesn't get too deep. There is a dock that extends out onto the water that has a gorgeous panoramic view of the entire Lake. it makes for great pictures of the sunrises and sunsets. It is also great place to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July and New year's. You can reserve the covered picnic areas down at City Hall I believe. however they may have changed that because in recent years they have added a visitor center there and you may be able to reserve it there I am not sure. There are BBQ pits available in picnic areas along with outlets plug-in devices. There is a outdoor shower to rinse off after swimming which I recommend do to swimmers itch and the ducks in the water. The bathrooms are kept pretty clean of course as always with any park filled with children there are days that they are well used and a little wet. They also have added paddle boat rentals in the summer time and concessions. and you can count on the ice cream truck being parked there most of the day during the summer. lots of people bring their dogs to this park and it is a dog-friendly Park however if you want let your dog off the leash to swim or play fetch during busy times this is not a good idea because the park is often crowded with many people and other dogs and they frown upon your dog being off the leash. However if you do go during slow days in the winter and fall the leash law is not strictly enforced by Park rangers and by the off chance that somebody does call and complain all they will do is ask you just put your dog...

Hay! This place is great! Wow what a cool park! So my wife and I love to use this park for evening picnicking and walking with our dog. The park has a good loop for walking and light strolling. used the loop in the evenings to rehab a foot injury and walk the dog, was never to busy with other dogs or people. Once and a wile you would get a bicyclist cruising through or the occasional kayak/paddle board carrier but everyone is polite so no issues have happened. One of the other things my wife and I love is the tables throughout the park. There is plenty of square metal picnic tables to have a meal or a small function. We like to get a Subway and use the tables to camp out at. There is an area that is covered with tables as well, so if you get caught in a rain squall there’s a place to hide. The swimming area is great and it looks like it stays shallow for a long way out. The boardwalk is a great place to spend some time as well. There is a small area opposite the beach side of the boardwalk to put in kayaks, paddle boards and the like. There are bathrooms, trash bins and plenty of parking in the evening. Plus Norms is across the street so you gota check them...

This is a good medium sized park with the playground area separated from the gravelly sand beach. A refreshment and kayak rental store is open 12 to 6. They sell bottled water and juices and drumstick ice cream cones. The playground is made up of two units. One unit is large and made for kids 5 years old and up. The other unit is for toddlers. It seems however the toddlers are more attracted to the bigger blue playground unit because young kids we're all over that one when we were there and no one was using the brown plastic toddler equipment. The beach has a swimming area in the lake and there or lots of duck families swimming near the weeds. There is also a large jetty/boardwalk that juts into the lake 100 feet or more. It was cool to see that the neighbor to the park had a dock with a seaplane on it. There is also a nice covered picnic area that can be rented as well as public restrooms.

Linden Park is just awesome. It has something for everyone. You can book a shed for birthday parties or simply put a canopy out in the great park and have a blast. Plenty of benches to go around and lot of places otherwise to just lay your picnic mat and have fun with your families. Plenty of parking around the park and they have slides, swings, monkey bars and much more in the playground for all ages. To top it off, they have a fun boardwalk and access to water. The water is not shallow and you can swim or splash around, whatever you like but it’s definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

A nice park do walk or jog and bring dogs on a leash. I've waded in the Lake but never swam in it. The beach is small but nice. There is plenty of grass space to hang out on or benches and a covered picnic area and BBQ. It's such a fun place to people watch, and watch all the different dogs that people bring on a leash. There is no lifeguard. There is a snack shop and Kayak rental. I believe that life vests can be rented with a kayaks or loaned. I'm not positive on that. An excellent place to bring the kids or picnic.
