Birria Kings — Restaurant in Lake Stevens

We were really looking forward to trying this new spot and unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience. We got an order of the cheesy birria tacos and the very first bit got a HUGE piece of bone in it. Not like a little piece of cartilage but a 1 1/2 inch long pencil wide piece of bone. My husband took it over to the truck and showed it to the guy that took our order and he gave a half assed apology and went inside. It wasn’t like oh my gosh I’m so sorry and we just wanted him to take it seriously and really acknowledge that it was not just gross but a big deal. The food itself was okay. Probably better than the other trucks in the area but wasn’t great. The meat was tender and well braised but it was more spicy than having the true depth of flavor we were hoping for. I really hope they will take it as not just a lesson in quality control but...

$50 (including tip) for 4 birria tacos and 5 street tacos seemed pricey but I figured that the food would be really good. Unfortunately the consomé was off to me. They give you almost no limes and there is hardly any cilantro, so for me personally, not great. I’ll try again in case my taste was just off but apparently customers need to ask for extra extra extra lime...
